Ying Changnian was a paranormal investigator and livestreamer who loved supernatural stories. He stayed calm and clever on stream, and after so many broadcasts, he had become completely at ease with investigating haunted places.
One moment, something creepy would jump right into his face. The next, he'd be taking a commemorative photo.
Viewers: “Holy crap, you're so relaxed! Aren't you scared?!”
Ying Changnian smiled faintly. His striking blue-purple hair stood out on the blue screen. “I'm a firm materialist.”
Ying Changnian was confused. The System told him this was a supernatural instance, but none of the stories he'd investigated had featured real ghosts or gods. The System was mysterious, too. Other than progress and assimilation values and the notification at the beginning, it offered no hints at all.
“Didn't you say this was a supernatural instance?”
Later, he frowned as he watched all the bizarre local gods, humans, animals, and ghosts who weren't supposed to be there.
And one after another, they kept getting right in his face, as if they were challenging him.
“Oh? A firm materialist?” Yi Zhixing asked, watching him with amusement.
Ying Changnian abandoned his usual lazy demeanor. A look of almost obsessive determination showed in his eyes. “Now this is real ghost hunting.”
He accepted the invitation to walk into the trap without hesitation, only to discover that behind it lay a web of countless interwoven causes and effects...
“Welcome, those who scheme against one another and fight to the bitter end.”
