Just an Older Sister (Not Really)

Xu Zhao came down with pneumonia and a fever of 40 degrees that wouldn't break. For a while, she thought she was about to die.

She couldn't help confessing the secret she'd kept in her heart for ten years.

"Big Sister, I like you..."

Ye Chaoyun pressed her index finger to Xu Zhao's lips. "You're talking nonsense again."

In the middle of the night, Xu Zhao hazily felt someone wiping her body, accompanied by a nearly inaudible sigh. "Zhaozhao, I'm only your sister."

Over the next few days, Ye Chaoyun remained attentive and gentle, showing no hint that anything had happened, as if the previous night had been a dream.

But once Xu Zhao recovered, Ye Chaoyun began to distance herself from her.

Later, her big sister reached out to make up with her and invited her home for dinner.

Xu Zhao sneered and flatly refused. "I'm busy. I can't come back."

"Mom says she misses you a lot."

"...I know."

On New Year's Eve, every home shone with festive lights.

After dinner, Xu Zhao made an excuse that she was busy and had to leave.

Ye Chaoyun walked her out, but Xu Zhao didn't want to talk to her.

The next second, Ye Chaoyun grabbed her chin.

Their breaths mingled, their lips met, and Ye Chaoyun whispered huskily against her ear.

"Happy New Year... I miss you so much."

Xu Zhao curled her slightly swollen lips into a cool smile. "Oh, but I only think of you as my sister."
