The first time Si Mu saw Utia was in a cultivation tank in a secret laboratory.
The female Guide of unknown rank lay with her eyes closed, curled up in the pale blue cultivation fluid like a baby in the womb. Her long grayish-purple hair drifted and twisted like a jellyfish floating in the deep sea.
Si Mu was captivated by the sight, unable to look away.
Back then, Utia had no name, only a codename:
Deep Sea Medusa.

One day, Si Mu's direct superior, Mr. Mo, summoned her and assigned her a mission.
"As an A-rank Sentinel, I want you to stay by her side as both her guardian and her observer, and submit an observation report every day."
Suppressing her excitement and elation, Si Mu knelt on one knee and swore an oath with the highest ceremony.
"I swear on my life that I will protect Deep Sea Medusa!"
Behind her, unseen, the woman who had slept for a long time in the cultivation tank opened her eyes.
Her blood-red gaze, deep beyond measure, fixed on Si Mu's back without a trace of emotion.
Her red lips parted as she silently formed a few words:
"Remember what you said, little kitten."

Excerpt from Utia's Observation Log
1. Today Utia came out of the cultivation tank. She's like a blank sheet of paper, with no basic common sense and little empathy or perception. She's curious about everything. That's all right. I'll teach her.
2. Utia has been clinging to me lately, probably because she feels insecure after leaving the cultivation fluid.
3. Utia's eyes are beautiful, like rubies abandoned in the deep sea.
4. Yesterday Utia asked why my finger was injured. I told her I'd accidentally scraped it, and she believed me.
5. Something is wrong with Utia. She's planning something (blacked out). It's all right, because I swore to protect her forever.
