[Saint Seiya] Garuda's Meal Today

There's a hapless guy who woke up starving and accidentally ate someone else's "pet bird," leaving him no choice but to work off the debt.

And there's a wise soul who sees injustice and cries out (not really), keenly realizing that this world has some very unreasonable labor contracts.

Two high-paying jobs, both with seemingly excellent benefits, are laid out before them.

----Which one should they choose?

Interviewee A: "I signed a contract with Hades and Thanatos first, so of course becoming a Saint of Hades is my top priority!"

Ms. A, who wishes to remain anonymous: "Wait, there's a catch in that contract! Don't sign it yet! ...Forget it, I'll go talk to your boss myself."

Mr. H, who barely managed to stay anonymous: "Athena, don't come over here!!! My Twin Gods! Take a look at what you've done!"

Mr. X: silent...

Mr. T: in tears...

Before You Read:

1. This story can be read on its own, or as a prequel to my other work, A Dream of Bubbles. It takes place in a parallel world to that story's [IF] world.

2. The setting draws on Lost Canvas and Saint Seiya, with a small amount of FGO. Some parts may take inspiration from the Greeks in FGO. If anything else is referenced, I'll point it out in the author's notes at the end.

3. Some chapters have a lot of author's notes, mostly for research and casual discussion. Please keep that in mind before reading.

4. [Important] The protagonist is essentially some kind of extraterrestrial life-form... if you can even call it a life-form. Don't judge them by human standards. It's best to think of them as an alien or an eldritch god. For instance, when people observe them from a certain perspective, they take on the corresponding appearance.

5. The protagonist's default starting alignment is Neutral. Whether they later become Lawful or Chaotic, Good or Evil, will unfold naturally.

6. The protagonist's entire character profile refers to the same being.

Using FGO terms, you can think of them as a Servant who uses different names and different Spirit Origin scales at Ascension stages one, two, three, and final, like Space Eleking.

Theme: Keeping your word is what matters most.
