The Comic’s White Moonlight: A Villain-Washing Plan

He tried to turn evil, but didn't quite manage it.

Yin Xinglin calls himself a pure-hearted schemer.

One day, he ran into a system that asked him to enter a manga world, take the place of the dead moonlight, follow the plot, and save the world.

For the sheer fun of it, he agreed.

The manga world was full of danger. To keep Yin Xinglin from dying suddenly like the moonlight, the system gave him what it claimed was the strongest supernatural ability: a golden finger.

The bad news was that this golden finger came with skills but no mana. He needed to earn readers' affection to use his powers.

The system thought Yin Xinglin would join the protagonist's team and dutifully level up and fight monsters.

But this guy seemed to have no interest in taking the usual route.

The latest chapter of the hit manga Hunting Rules came out a week ago, announcing the moonlight's departure.

Readers were still lamenting the loss and complaining about how rushed it was when the story's next developments seemed to hurtle off in an unbelievable direction.

First, the moonlight, who had just died, was immediately announced to be alive again. But... why did the story suddenly feel a little off?

[Huh? What are you all talking about? Wasn't Yin Xinglin the moonlight from the early chapters?]

But just as readers finished analyzing things and finally became certain that Yin Xinglin, the original moonlight, was now a thoroughly evil villain, the plot hit them with another huge twist.

At last, the final trial arrived, and an ancient prophecy came to pass in the present day.

The boy who claimed to see it all as entertainment fought with everything he had to bring back the last flame of hope, only to fall before dawn.

The manga forum erupted in tears once more.

[I was wrong! I shouldn't have suspected you were the villain! Damn it, Linglan, give me back my moonlight!!! [Sobs uncontrollably]]

The protagonist fakes his death. His secret identity will almost certainly be exposed, both to the readers and to the protagonist's team.

The protagonist is a real fraud, pretending to be cool, pitiful, and innocent. He loves getting himself into trouble, but at heart he's a white cut to black and back to white.

Yin Xinglin is definitively the protagonist, but Li Ziming's role in the plot is basically that of a second protagonist.

Although the setting is an urban world with supernatural abilities, it's almost entirely fictional, so please don't compare it to reality.

P.S. Maybe Yin Xinglin could count as beautiful, strong, and tragic? (Though I don't think he's tragic.)
