After the battle against the Heavenly Principles came to an end, Morax, one of the Seven, finally got some long-awaited time to rest.
But when he woke up, instead of the familiar sights of the Wangsheng Funeral Parlor, he found himself in a strange room, in a strange world filled with towering buildings and bustling traffic.
Even more unusually, he could no longer sense any of the powers he had possessed as either "Morax" or "Zhongli."
The only thing in the room that could prove his identity was a card that read:
[Name: Zhongli. Age: 19. Nationality: Chinese.]
After a kind stranger took him in, he stumbled upon a game called Genshin Impact. The world depicted in it bore many similarities to Teyvat.
Many of the characters available to play were people he knew or had heard of.
Curious, he chose the character named "Morax" and started his first battle.
And then...
Players of this worldwide competitive game went wild.
The genius player known as "Rex Lapis," who had dominated the competitive scene for three years before suddenly retiring, had vanished without a trace for half a year. Now he had appeared again.
So where was he now? And why had he returned?
As for Zhongli, the fake genius player, he had one question: What is esports?
1. This is not an esports novel. There is little description of competition; it's mainly about meeting friends and adapting to everyday life among humans.
2. It will feature characters from various sports anime, but as above, there will be little description of competitions.
3. Zhongli is an ordinary mortal in this world, and all the characters are alive.
4. The minimum age to officially compete in esports in this world is 16.
