(My neighboring novel, Crossing the Line, launches in July. Please add it to your favorites!)
Black-hearted, teasing beauty bottom x gentle, secretly obsessive top (his dark side and unhinged nature come out later)
This story takes place in an alternate Warring States era!
[Warring States chaos + political intrigue + ensemble cast + secret identities + fake death + regretful pursuit]
The Zhou royal house weakened, the laws of the land fell into disarray, and ritual and music collapsed. The Jixia Academy gathered the greatest talents in the realm. Its eight Qilin prodigies each had their own gifts and served different masters. Who among them truly possessed the extraordinary talent to unite all under heaven?
Xie Qianxian was a Qilin prodigy at Jixia Academy, a man of immense learning. Others said he was arrogant and conceited, but he had every reason to be proud.
He was a strategist whom every state vied to recruit, yet he was willing to serve only the chosen one revealed in his divination. Then he discovered that before they had ever met, he had already treated that man as a discarded pawn, forming a bitter grudge between them.
The Crown Prince of Ying, Xiao Xuanye, had the look of an emperor born to rule, with the sun and moon at his brow.
"This humble one admires Your Highness." Wearing the secret identity of a crown prince's reader, Xie Qianxian treated the heir as a stepping stone, flattering him under the principle that rare goods should be kept for their proper buyer. Little did he know that a mad wolf had already set its sights on his throat beneath that disguise.
Once, he had calculated everything under heaven, but failed to account for love ensnaring his heart. When Xiao Xuanye tore open his robe and sneered, "Is this how a strategist proves his loyalty, with his body?"
Later, the crown prince's gaze shifted from suspicion to obsession. At last, he pinned Xie Qianxian against a desk and chair, biting his earlobe as he whispered, "Didn't you say you admired me...?" Xiao Xuanye gripped the ink-stained bones of his wrist and bit his Adam's apple. "You should be happy that I want you in my bed, shouldn't you?"
Xie Qianxian: "..."
The court was a sea of intrigue, and flames of war rose along the borders. He wielded the pieces on the board as blades, breaking alliances and cutting down political enemies, turning all his schemes into steps that helped the man he loved ascend the throne.
They stood shoulder to shoulder amid the tides of power, yet tangled together in secret beneath the bedcovers. No one knew who first broke their principles and crossed the line.
Until his secret identity was completely exposed...
"What I want most now is to break your pride." Bloodied fingertips brushed the strategist's sash as he was pinned beneath that man. "Want to stay by my side?"
"My male favorite, my bedchamber slave. Do you want to be one?"
When the nest is overturned, can any egg remain intact? The flood cannot be turned back, and all the histories of old will turn to ash. But will anyone remember the nobody who struggled against the current?
(The author is terrible at writing blurbs. Please forgive me...)
Content warnings:
1. Main pairing: Xie Qianxian (bottom) x Xiao Xuanye (top); there are also two secondary couples.
2. The style leans serious. This is actually a plot-driven story, and it starts very slowly.
3. Regarding the point of view, the story mainly follows the bottom's perspective (I always thought that counted as a bottom-centered story, but maybe not...). Overall, the top is utterly devoted to the bottom, and the story has a little of the regretful pursuit trope. I don't think those things contradict each other, sob. Surely there can be a top who loves someone but can't have him...? Besides, regretful pursuit isn't my signature selling point. It's placed prominently to warn readers, so no one's time is wasted!
4. The pursuit isn't mindless, and it's not one-sided abuse. He hurts him, and hurts himself even more (the top loves him so much).
5. There are hints of fantasy (this is just to indulge the author's chuunibyou tendencies).
6. I don't deny that some events are inspired by history. If this offends history buffs... I really can't change a thing, so please move along (fidgets).
7. The title captures the emotional tone of the whole story. Maybe you can't understand it yet, but I hope you'll get it by the time I've finished writing!
Crossing the Line, launching in July
Launching in July!
Paranoid, fake-cold top student bottom x scheming, lovesick school bully top
Ji Chengnan was the "good kid" everyone talked about. What they didn't know was that he had been ill since childhood, with depression and paranoia. His life had long since fallen apart.
The "good kid" enrolled in the worst high school in the city and met a clueless transfer student. The boy, Luo Mingxuan, became Ji Chengnan's desk mate, took his place at the bottom of the class, and was always smiling at him.
Ji Chengnan thought he was just a stupid dog with bad grades, until he realized...
Whatever rank Ji Chengnan got, the "stupid dog" got the same rank...
Whichever exam room Ji Chengnan sat in, the "stupid dog" sat in the same one...
The "stupid dog" remembered Ji Chengnan's discarded habits better than he did...
Ji Chengnan disliked the bustle of everyday life, yet from the very beginning, he tacitly allowed Luo Mingxuan to approach him with ulterior motives... He crossed the line...
The "stupid dog" said there was someone he had secretly loved for a long time...
Ji Chengnan nodded, but felt an inexplicable irritation.
It wasn't until Ji Chengnan came across the boy's sketchbook that he saw the truth:
The first half was full of him, and the second half was still full of him...
Quiet, frowning, dozing on the desk...
It was a long, watchful gaze, one Ji Chengnan had never noticed, yet one that belonged to Luo Mingxuan.
A long-planned secret love. Your shadow searches for you throughout the world.
Content warnings:
1. Most of the story takes place at school.
2. Includes a conversion therapy camp element.
3. Both leads are adults.
4. They will be separated for a long time, with a little angst in between. A little angst is good for the soul.
Theme: All the ancient sages have died, and only the drinkers leave their names behind.
After seeing this book from beginning to end, I thought I should not only send you a happy ending, but also make some comments. But first of all, I would like to sincerely congratulate you on completing this work that has been the result of many years of hard work. I like your writing very much. It has a solid foundation and a delicate description of the emotions of the characters. It is handled with ease and makes people immersed in it. I still remember that you took the initiative to invite me to read this book at CP. I never thought that my unintentional words of encouragement at that time could become one of the motivations for you to persevere in the face of setbacks during the visa application process. Now that you have successfully completed the book, I am happy for you and deeply gratified. Your persistence and love are the most precious qualities of creation. Happy every day. Ajiao
Don't be anxious, you wrote very well 🌈

Such a delicious article also broke my heart... Even after years of puppetry, it was hard to relax for a while, the effect of the medicine was too strong [covering face, laughing and crying]
I saw the 22nd birthday mentioned in the composition, so I wish you a happy birthday, happiness every day, peace and success.
Xiaojiu Benjiu is talking about me, hahahahaha But I cried after laughing. I just wrote a long review of more than a thousand words. I wanted to split the screen and then [Lemon] was gone and I could only finish it with flowers.
I really like the civil and military duo, how sad the ending is😭😭😭Will there be any extras about them in the future?
In which chapter does Tang Ju commit suicide???
Good guy, I'm going to finish this chapter first. Although I didn't see the delicious gift package when I typed this line, I also ate 🐶 [purple sugar] kswl [orange candy] first.
