[Clever and quick-witted heroine who keeps her cool but has a playful streak x aloof, composed, abstinent, and pure-hearted hero]
Shen Zhao is a cat spirit with poor cooking skills. Since her roommate, a cookie tortoise, needs to hibernate, Shen Zhao has to stay with humans each winter.
One perfectly ordinary winter day, she turns into her true form and knocks on an old friend's door, as familiar with the place as ever. But the person who opens it is a stranger: handsome and refined, with an icy gaze.
After a brief hesitation, Shen Zhao taps the magical ice cream cooler beside her with her tail. Here, rent.
And so begins the strange cohabitation of one human (?) and one cat.
Lin Yousheng's diary:
December 1 / I knew it wouldn't be that simple. The cat that person asked me to look after is actually a cat spirit. What a headache. I'll just have her pretend to be an ordinary cat. Exposing her seems like a lot of trouble.
December 10 / While working out today, I saw the cat drooling over me. It felt so weird. I should remember to wear my workout clothes next time.
December 21 / Her molting season has started. She seems to have noticed how weak I am, and secretly cooked up a pot of strange ice cream in the kitchen. It was sickeningly sweet. I ate all of it so she wouldn't be disappointed.
But then she saw the tip of my tail and mistook it for a toy like a cat teaser. She got scared and ran away.
It's cold outside. Where could she have gone?
December 31 / We're together now. Tomorrow I'll go to that tortoise's place and bring all her things over.
The full manuscript is complete, and it's expected to launch in the second half of the year!
