The Everyday Life of a Household-Born Servant is complete.

One-line blurb: A country girl's struggle to support her family and build a better life.

[Blurb]

Cui Qi'er transmigrated, becoming a country girl with no father, a house stripped bare, and a recently broken engagement.

There are no female-only households in the Sheng Dynasty. Cui Qi'er, who despises favoring sons over daughters more than anything, was grateful for the first time to her bedridden adoptive mother, who had risked her life to give birth to a younger brother. Otherwise, the family would have been left without an heir and their property seized.

Taking the attitude that she should make the best of her situation, Cui Qi'er made peach wine from whatever ingredients were at hand, working hard to earn money and build a fortune.

Exhausted every day, with her back aching, Cui Qi'er glanced at her little brother, who was squatting in the corner playing with mud. She decided to send him to school. She didn't expect him to pass the civil service exams and raise their family's status; it would be enough if he became a bookkeeper and could support the household.

She was doing it for his own good, not because she couldn't stand seeing him laze around.

Unexpectedly, her younger brother turned out to be so capable that he passed all six levels of the imperial exams, became prime minister, and even petitioned for an imperial honor for her as a titled lady.

[Reading guide]

1. Her little brother is a sister-complex. No one and nothing matters more than his older sister.

2. This is a story about a distant, distant, distant, distant, distant, distant branch of the Qinghe Cui clan from The Everyday Life of a Household-Born Servant. The two stories aren't closely related; this one simply borrows the setting.

3. There is a male lead, but he appears late, so don't get your hopes up.

Theme: Women should be self-reliant.
