The most famous wastrel in Wuhu Prefecture is the Wang family's young master, Wang Dongyi. Everyone in town knows he's all show on the outside, idle, and a little strange.
Young Master Wang has two wishes in life. First, everyone says he's surrounded by ghosts and monsters, so could he see one for himself? Second, he hopes the one he meets will be a beautiful fox spirit who'll agree to marry him.
And a fox spirit really does show up at his door.
Hu Jiulang X Wang Dongyi
A fox lord who comes to repay a debt and seek revenge, with the doting instincts of a mother; a cheerful wastrel who attracts demons and ghosts but can't see them
A decidedly unconventional love story featuring classic tropes like a mortal's three lifetimes, a fox offering himself in marriage, and a Daoist priest breaking up a couple
Theme: Heaven's will has always been hard to fathom.
