The Enchanting Concubine

Age-gap romance + privileged scion gets his comeuppance + dog-training romance + stunning, universally adored heroine

Prince Su returned from his campaign in the southern lands with a concubine in tow.

The concubine had a complexion like snow, and rumor had it that the prince had saved her on the battlefield. From then on, she regarded him as her savior, following him without a name or status.

She attended to him with song and tea, serving him as a maid.

"Show your princess consort respect. Attend to her, and don't let favor go to your head."

"Know your place and don't entertain thoughts of fighting for favor or power."

"If you bear a child someday, the child will be sent to the princess consort to raise."

In bed, the stern, imposing man always lectured her like this.

Each time, Rou Luo would answer meekly through tear-filled eyes.

Prince Su was reasonably satisfied with her obedience.

He knew that this timid, lowly concubine could not survive a single day without him.

[Female lead's perspective]

Her elder brother's life was in danger, and there was only one medicine in the world that could save him.

Rou Luo had no choice but to endure humiliation and bide her time.

Fortunately, heaven rewards the patient. After two full years of lying low beside the vicious, cruel, hypocritical, and selfish Prince Su, she finally found a chance to steal the secret medicine.

She immediately staged her death and slipped away, returning secretly to Qinchuan.

Everyone knew that a concubine had died in Prince Su's manor.

So she was dead.

She was only a lowly, disobedient concubine. If she died... then she died.

By candlelight, an infant cried through the endless night.

Prince Su was only twenty-six, but within a few months, several strands of white had appeared at his temples.

He looked down at the infant in his arms, his fingertips trembling slightly.

Later, he built her a grand tomb, wrote her epitaph, and sent people to the homeland she had once told him about.

Only then did he discover that her surname was false, and so was her given name.

Everything about her was a lie!

The day he learned the truth, the all-powerful Prince Su sat motionless for a long time, then laughed in a fury.

His voice sounded like a demon emerging from hell.

"Turn the whole world upside down if you have to. Bring her back to me."

Bring her back, lock her away, and keep her locked up for the rest of her life.
