1. When Fu Lingxi was sixteen, her parents divorced. Her mother took her north and led her into a dreamlike European-style manor.

3. The boldest thing Fu Lingxi ever did was secretly change her university application without telling anyone, choosing a school thousands of miles from Beijing.
She was determined to escape this suffocating place, and Liang Ruiwen, who clung to her like a madman.
The night before registration, a typhoon swept through.
She dragged her suitcase into the rain and was drenched outside the villa.
The whole mansion was dark. A cold chest pressed against her back, an arm with prominent veins pinning her ribs. Cold, damp lips brushed her ear, but the breath that fell against it was hot.

4. Her secret was exposed, and Fu Lingxi had nowhere left to turn. To keep her mother from being thrown out, she was forced to accept Liang Ruiwen's offer: her mother could remain in the Liang household in peace, while Fu Lingxi would have a secret affair with him.
"Do you want Big Brother?"
A hand with distinct knuckles slowly peeled off her soaked shirt, as if unwrapping a long-awaited gift.
In the throes of passion, pain struck. Fu Lingxi bit her lip, refusing to let out a sound. Liang Ruiwen laughed in her ear. "Do you know that Big Brother was born to be his little sister's lover?"
Their first taste of forbidden pleasure lasted until the sky began to lighten, the warmth between them still lingering.
Liang Ruiwen buried his face in the hollow of her neck and twined a damp strand of her hair around his finger. His voice was satisfied and sensual. "Baby, don't even think about leaving me for the rest of your life."
