On the 127th day of having the same dream, Chen Ling realizes that something is wrong at home.
The alarm clock by the door lets out a bizarre laugh. A shadow sways outside the fifth-floor window. Red liquid runs down the painting on the wall…
And then there’s a lunatic who inexplicably squats outside his door and immediately offers to commission and buy out all of Chen Ling’s paintings. No, not a lunatic: a patron.
That night, the figure in the painting holds a knife and stands by the dining table. It sobs and wipes away its tears while stabbing a little wooden doll of Chen Ling’s.
Chen Ling braces one hand against the frame and lets the blade in the painting cut his finger.
He says softly, “Cry again, and I’ll burn you.”
After the supernatural resurgence, cursed things run rampant. Countless curses descend upon the world, drawing people into bizarre inner worlds known as “Tales of the Strange.”
They are forbidden zones no living person can enter.
Bellflowers blooming on a heart, an NPC whose skin has been stolen by a virtual character, a living wooden puppet disguised as a sculpture…
People struggle to survive, walking on eggshells.
Later, a masked person appears in the Tales of the Strange.
Whenever others search for clues, he hides information and misleads them with his words, deliberately steering them in the wrong direction. He tricks everyone into handling each crisis in a more complicated and dangerous way.
Xie Wan.
And in every crisis, Chen Ling always finds the right method and the right path, leading those around him to safety and silently fighting back against Xie Wan.
People instinctively begin following Chen Ling, hoping he can lead them out of the Tales of the Strange.
But when the Psychic Association finally issues an arrest warrant for Xie Wan and places him on its wanted list, people discover that Chen Ling has taken a firm stand beside Xie Wan, becoming his accomplice.
Chen Ling sits atop a raised platform. “You didn’t know?”
“I used to be the third most dangerous person on the Psychic Forum.”
“Now I’m number one on the wanted list: Zero Degree.”
After the supernatural resurgence, Chen Ling loses several unfinished life-drawing sketches and can’t find them no matter how hard he looks.
It’s only when the people in the paintings call his name in his dreams and a Tale of the Strange begins that Chen Ling realizes his missing works will often become the only exits from the inner worlds.
They use death to complete themselves.
As for Xie Wan, he is the investigator who probes into everything in secret, searches for the source of the paintings, and bears witness to stories that can never be undone…
Xie Wan: “A thousand people see a thousand different Hamlets. Different people can have different reactions to the same painting.”
Chen Ling: “Then why do you want me to sketch in the Tales of the Strange? What are you hoping to see in them?”
Xie Wan pauses, then hooks his little finger around Chen Ling’s. “The creator.”
“You.”
A broke, free-spirited artist who seems sweet but is secretly dark top (Chen Ling) x a patron and detective who seems dark but is secretly sweet and loves to break the rules bottom (Xie Wan)
1. Top-focused, one-on-one. The pair are endgame and will not be split up or reversed. Both are physically and emotionally devoted only to each other.
2. Primarily traditional mystery-solving unlimited flow, with items but no golden finger. Not a power fantasy.
3. The two are accomplices and bickering partners: artist x detective, at each other’s throats in public and squabbling behind closed doors. Their financial arrangement is just a lie the couple tells (not really).
A Max-Level Cannon Fodder’s Guide to Self-Rescue: Blurb

Bai Luanzheng was the biggest villain in the unlimited game. In his previous life, he committed countless atrocities and had a terrible reputation.
In the end, he met a gruesome death, perishing in a fiery hell until not even his bones remained.
Later, Bai Luanzheng was reborn.
He was reborn into the body of a sickly man who was good for nothing but his looks, a useless cannon fodder who was usually doomed to die in the very first game.
He was gravely injured and blind, frail enough to hurt whenever he moved.
The ghosts who had summoned him into this body were still shouting his name and bowing before him, begging him to bring “death” to the players.
Bai Luanzheng: ?
His combat ability is currently zero, he can’t see a thing, and he’d be out of breath just carrying a bucket of water. Who exactly is supposed to bring death to whom?
Being able to stay alive is enough :)
Here’s a joke.
A max-level villain, but a catastrophic start.

Lin Xianzhou discovers that a cannon-fodder character he once killed in a game instance has come back to life.
In his previous life, the cannon fodder was stupid and vicious, nearly getting the whole team killed. In the end, he became a sacrifice in a ritual to summon a god. The ghosts shattered every bone in his body, and he begged Lin Xianzhou to save him.
Lin Xianzhou smiles gently at the cannon fodder, then gives him a quick death.
He begins discreetly keeping an eye on Bai Luanzheng.
In every game instance, Bai Luanzheng only ever trails nervously at the back of the group, shrinking into a corner with a deathly pale face. He never volunteers to take a risk, and when he sees a ghost, he’s quicker to fold than anyone.
He’s an even more useless… coward than the original cannon fodder.
*
Rather than face his opponents head-on, Bai Luanzheng prefers to plot and scheme behind the scenes, manipulating the whole board like an observer. Then he sets a few pawns in motion, casually creating seemingly reasonable “accidents” to achieve his goal.
In the eyes of the other players, Bai Luanzheng is dead weight, cannon fodder, the most useless person in the game instance, someone they can push into danger at any time.
Only Lin Xianzhou can see the truth.
Bai Luanzheng looks terrified, but always “accidentally” finds the crucial clues. He uses his “life” as a bargaining chip, toys with the game’s rules, and breaks out of dead ends.
He sees through Lin Xianzhou, who is hiding behind the scenes, with ease.
Bai Luanzheng.
He is a calculating “god,” a thoroughgoing liar, and the greatest threat in the game.
*
After living again, Bai Luanzheng discovers two things.
First, all the familiar people he knew have become mindless NPCs in the game instances, there to be controlled and consumed by the game.
Second, Lin Xianzhou doesn’t recognize him.
Five hundred years ago, Lin Xianzhou died before Bai Luanzheng’s eyes. Covered in blood, he personally pushed Bai Luanzheng toward the divine throne.
That night, the sky turned crimson, and countless eyes gazed down at the earth from above.
Lin Xianzhou smiled and called to him, “A-Zheng.”
“You look beautiful when you cry.”
A sickly-looking cannon fodder who is really a venomous beauty top x a gentle and considerate beauty who is really ruthless bottom
Notes:
1. Top-focused, one-on-one. The pair are endgame and will not be split up or reversed. Childhood friends with a faux-brother relationship, both reborn, two beauties with intense mutual feelings, and physically and emotionally devoted only to each other. Before they recognize each other, there are scenes of them trying to kill one another. Once they do, they’re devoted to each other.
2. Not a power fantasy. Both are strong, with no golden finger but some items. In the first game instance, the top is summoned into a dead person’s body and has a frail, blind setup. He will recover later.
3. Primarily mystery-solving unlimited flow. The story may be a little formulaic. Their identities from their previous lives won’t give them any advantage in clearing the game instances. The author is hopeless at logic, but really is bad at this and loves writing it anyway TT.

I really like the complicated little girl... I am very curious about how to deal with the copy. How did Wishful get such a dangerous code name as Death's Speaker? Thinking about it, it's different from her style.
After all, I wish the baby would still be a child [please]
I feel like this copy is so lively.
