Can't Robots Cultivate Immortality?

"Mom, the Grandmaster has finished refining the Spirit-Driving Pills. Each pill costs just 800,000. Hurry up and send me the money so I can ascend to immortality as soon as possible."

"Huh? We're out of money? What do we do? Going hungry is the least of our worries. Helping me become immortal is the urgent matter!"

"Mom, I also need to buy a copy of The Secret Immortal Record of Myriad Forms to study from. It costs 2.5 million. Can you find a way to get the money?"

Her mother: "Sweetheart, do you really have to cultivate immortality?"

Meng Yu: "Mom, the apocalypse is coming soon. If I don't cultivate immortality, how will I take you with me when I ascend and escape the disaster?"

"Daughter, I understand all the reasoning." Her mother was on the verge of tears. "But... you're a robot. How can a robot cultivate immortality?"

Meng Yu looked down at the heap of broken metal parts that made up her body and fell into deep thought.
