Cen Jin, a little-known idol who came up through a trainee program, was signed to Muxue Entertainment, an agency famous for exploiting its artists. He debuted with the group Raining over a year ago. There was no scandal, no huge paycheck, just a handful of gigs and an obsessive sasaeng fan who was always harassing him.
After finding another rose-tied envelope and a bag of trash outside his apartment, Cen Jin finally decided to do something about it.
Through the newly installed surveillance camera, he spotted a familiar figure outside his apartment: sneaky and up to no good.
He took a closer look. That profile belonged to his former teammate Jiang Jingyi, who hadn't debuted!
Jiang Jingyi thought he could do anything. After making a bet with his cousin that "with your personality, no one would ever like you as an idol," he joined Muxue Entertainment.
The good news was that his cousin was wrong. Even as a trainee, his looks had already won him a sizable fanbase.
The bad news was that on the day filming wrapped for the debut reality show, he discovered that he hadn't debuted at all!
Meanwhile, Cen Jin, a marginal member he'd always looked down on for pouring his heart into his fans, had made the lineup.
Jiang Jingyi couldn't accept it. He thought, Why can't I do it? What is it about Cen Jin that's so great?
So, to figure out what was so great about Cen Jin, he became Cen Jin's fan.
And then he finally realized that what he'd resented all along wasn't failing to debut. It was not getting to debut alongside Cen Jin.
The love interest falls for him first without realizing it. This really is a sweet story.
This story does not condone sasaeng behavior! Jiang Jingyi being a sasaeng fan is a misunderstanding on Cen Jin's part!
(It'll be explained later that it was because of a letter that never got delivered.)
