Genius diver Jing Luo transferred to No. 3 High School after her parents' pressure drove her into depression.

One is a highly talented diver who also excels at school. The other is a top student with a gift for learning, the sort who always comes in first and never needs a second try. They are alike in so many ways: both have terrible families and somewhat withdrawn personalities. They become the most important people in each other's lives, saving one another and growing together.

Jing Luo transfers schools because of her depression and meets Wu Sheng. At first, they each keep to themselves, as if some kind of barrier separates them. Then an accident brings them to know and understand each other. The two girls, who originally had no friends, gradually make more and more friends, and grow closer and closer to each other. They may not even know when they fell in love. Perhaps it just happened naturally.

But nothing goes smoothly. Just when Wu Sheng is under the greatest pressure at school, and just when diving is both Jing Luo's greatest love and her greatest pain, Jing Luo is diagnosed with lung cancer. She has only a year left to live. In the time she has left, she chooses to keep it secret and let go. As she puts it, "I'm a dying person. How could I possibly love her?"

Later, when a misunderstanding threatens to separate them, they both choose to let go. But a heart that has been saved still knows how to love. It's instinctive, beyond one's control. Eventually, they clear up the misunderstanding and seem to return to how things were before, but in reality, they have less and less time together. Love can heal anything. If only love really could heal everything.

Jing Luo still can't escape the clutches of her illness. Just when she is closest to happiness, she chooses to leave. Wu Sheng struggles alone in this world for seventeen years. The moment she reaches her goal, she chooses to go be with her. "I miss you so much. Forgive me..."

And so they reunite on the other side of the world, where there will be no more birth, aging, sickness, or death, and they will never be separated again...
