Brave sun X carefree moon
A tiger of a heroine who often charges headfirst into things but sometimes stops to smell the roses X a sweet, warm-hearted fox of a hero
On a night when all hope seemed lost, two high school classmates who barely knew each other, Liang Jubei and Wen Jing, hovered on the brink of life and death before falling together into a pocket dimension of the underworld.
Without even informing the King of Hell, the pocket dimension's owner outsourced an important task to them:
"There's a genius murder case at Beijuan Middle School that I need you to investigate. To make things easier, I've created a sandbox world and turned back time by five months. Your job is to enter the sandbox, find out who killed her and where it happened, then return to reality and reverse the murder. Once you complete the task, I'll let you leave."
And so Liang Jubei and Wen Jing were sent into the sandbox, five months in the past.
Their tasks were as follows:
Get close to the recently transferred genius student → become friends with her → find out "who" killed her and "where" → return to reality and save her.
Sounds like a lot of hard work.
Luckily, the compensation was, well, pretty decent.
The owner of the pocket dimension agreed to the conditions proposed by the two contract workers.
In the sandbox world:
One, Liang Jubei's mother was still alive.
Two, it didn't rain, which Wen Jing hated most.
Then one day, they noticed a third strange thing, and it bothered them.
"This is weird. Why does Wen Jing seem more and more likable?"
"This is strange. Why do I want to see Liang Jubei today, too?"
Meanwhile, the King of Hell, stationed in the underworld, sensed an unusual shift in the spirit world's magnetic field and began actively searching for its source...
[Extra-long heads-up]
1) This is an ensemble story. Even inanimate objects might get a line of dialogue.
2) A freewheeling school fantasy, with everyday life, a relaxed pace, chuunibyou antics, and awkward sweetness.
3) Entirely fictional, with no real-life models. The worldbuilding is piled higher than Mount Everest.
4) The heroine's name, Liang Ju(jù)bei, came from a typo I once made. I couldn't forget it for seven days and seven nights, so the author followed her heart and chose a name that would let her sleep at night. In the story, it's explained as an error on her birth certificate. If you can't accept that, don't read.
5) The setting includes a modern underworld, an all-female palace of Kings of Hell, and powerful supernatural abilities. Say it loud: they're so cool! Check out Chapters 7, 21, 26, 28, 32, 33, 41, 42, 43, and 46.
6) Unless otherwise noted, all lyrics in the story are original. They may fit the scene, or I may have made them up without any regard for the scene.
7) [Important] This is a female-centered world, and all genders are female by default. Examples include "mother-father," "other women," and "the stone of her mountain." These are not typos. Please let me know if I miss anything. Also, occupations won't be prefixed with "female," as in female judge, female skier, or female chess player, because everyone is female by default unless the text explicitly says otherwise. Treat every new character as female. Yes, that means the good, the bad, and ordinary people can all be women. Otherwise, women wouldn't be the default, and wouldn't be the primary sex. Characters may be women, men, or perhaps nonbinary, but unless specified, they are women. If you can accept that, welcome. If not, please don't read, and let's respect each other.
8) Though this is a school story, it doesn't pair off every character for the sake of romance! Supporting characters may have unrequited, open, or secret crushes, but they won't all end up paired off. Just because A likes B, that doesn't mean B has to return the feelings! The supporting cast may also have duos who bicker, but that doesn't make them a couple. A woman and a man having a conversation doesn't mean they have to be locked in as soulmates for their next life! The only relationship that will definitely be written and definitely have an outcome is the one between the heroine and the hero. No pairings for everyone else! If you don't like that, don't read.
9) I suppose I'm the sort of author who likes to plant clues. Events that seem like plot holes or don't make sense at first are actually deeply BLUE clues I've buried on the beach with a little shovel, because that guy called "The End" has been taking his sweet time, and I'm getting a bit bored. Of course, if a BUG isn't resolved by the end, it's probably a real bug. Feel free to point it out, and I'll be very grateful!
10) My state of mind changed a lot while writing this story, so I often practiced alchemy and gold-making in the author's notes. The main idea was to be unrealistic and escape reality. The furnace is full of thought scraps with unknown ingredients. If you don't like them, close the author's notes. If you insist on reading, bring your own silver needle.
11) The above should give you a good idea of what kind of story I'm writing.
12) I know a soul that's slowly withering. I don't know what I can do for you. If this story can become soil, fresh water, nourishment, and sunshine for you, I'll dedicate it to you.
Theme: Focus on the mental health of bereaved adolescents, and let them grow toward the light as the clouds part
This article is positioned as a "female-oriented romance", and the author self-supervised and corrected non-female-oriented words when writing the article. If there are any omissions, I apologize and you can let me know in this message. Thank you very much! Note 1: When catching insects, it doesn't matter if the little angel only remembers the specific non-female proper word and forgets which chapter it is. The author will search the entire text for each omitted word that is pointed out, and thank the reader with a nickname in the first chapter where the word appears. Note 2: Everyone has different ideas, so the author has the following points to say: [Orange Heart] 1. Malicious words such as "jealousy": should and will definitely be replaced, for example: jealousy → jealousy. ❤️ 2. Neutral words (in my personal opinion) such as "Long-shang-late": If I don't replace it, it means that I personally think that the word is a neutral word, so women can own it & naturally become the subject of the word. !!! But!!! If any little angel disagrees, you are welcome to point out those words. The author will think about it and make a choice that the author deems appropriate after consideration: 1. Continue to retain the word (because the author still believes that the word is indeed a neutral word, and women can be the subject of the word openly), or 2. Listen to the opinions of the little angel + make corrections. The author's vision is limited, and there must be aspects that he cannot take into account or think thoroughly, so your message may wake me up and let me see a different world. I am grateful. I understand that some sisters don't want to see the word "neutral word". I have no malice. This is for lack of a better word. And, don't think I'm verbose. This is the last point of this article. This article decides to embrace the word "sisters". I can very well understand those who advocate the use of words such as "sisters and sisters". The author has used the word "" in his old articles, and it is not ruled out that he will use it again in the future, but in this article, the author chooses to use "sisters". No matter which one you use, we are sisters who love each other and dance samba cha cha cha together! 💛 3. Words for which no alternative can be found, such as "effort": "Slave" is a malicious word that the author believes should be replaced, but "effort" has no alternative in the author's limited dictionary, so it is retained in the article. [It is worth noting that the author believes that no matter what language it is, there are no absolutely 100% synonyms in the same language, only very similar synonyms. Although "effort" has synonyms, in some cases, what the author wants to express is just "effort". In fact, it is not impossible to force the replacement. There is "?" In the replacement plan for "nu", but writing "?" Definitely requires explanation. In this way, many words are needed. So isn't it possible to not use the pinyin of "nu"? Just like "fuck" becomes "", and similarly "effort" becomes "guili", why not? Yes, of course you can, but for the same reason, you need to explain it, so many words are needed. It's not impossible to explain (anyway, I love talking nonsense), but this is a novel with more than 200,000 words. The text contains a lot of self-made words (even if the starting point is good) and only providing detailed explanations at the end of a chapter will greatly affect the reading experience, so the author apologizes for retaining these irreplaceable words in the article. Of course, if you have any suggestions, they are welcome! 💜 4. Actively embrace words with women as the main body, such as "marriage" and "marriage": In the author's superficial understanding, "marriage" and "marriage" can be interpreted as "women as the cause, women as the family" - women-centered words that the author believes are not as generous as embraces and are in line with the female-oriented world view, so they are retained in the article. [Special note about "marriage": "Hong" actually means dusk, but in modern times, this word has been widely used and has certain malicious intent. Although we should boldly go our own way, since marriage is the career of two people, after thinking about it, the article replaced it with "" (which means confusion, which is quite suitable for the state of love between both parties)]. If there is anything wrong, please tell me! [Pink Heart] 5. Chinese is an ideographic character. When choosing replacement words, the author will give priority to words with homophones, and then use words that have similar structures and are not malicious to ensure the fluency of reading to the greatest extent. If there is anything not thoughtful, it is still the same, the little angel can speak freely! [Blue Heart] 6. English words will appear in the article, but the frequency is not high, and it is definitely not like "I went shopping today, and a woman asked me about the road, and I told her that I don't live here." The frequency is not high, but if the little angel can't accept English words, let's see you next time! (Shake hands vigorously and wave handkerchief) Thanks to everyone who gave this story a chance. I know it's not perfect, so thank you very much for giving it and me a chance even though you have many choices.
Sister, you don't need to emphasize "purely personal preference" in your introduction, because this is what it should be!
"My lies are misleading." This is a big bug for the author~ Zoroastrianism confuses the public
But isn't it appropriate for a man to be physically weak? In your female-oriented setting, don't men respect white, thin and young men? Why is this man bigger than the heroine?
The "nu" of hard work can be left unchanged, and "slave" is similar to "quan", so it may be a woman who holds power. "Slave" should not be a derogatory term. As for the derogatory usage, "" can be used.
