Ji Tongchen transmigrates into a novel, becoming the fake young master in a story about a beloved, adored real young master.
From childhood, he receives an elite education so strict it's practically abusive, and is often punished until he's covered in bruises. No matter how hard he tries, he can't win his adoptive parents' affection.
After they bring home their precious biological son, Ji Guang, they treat Ji Tongchen like garbage, insisting he submit and help the real young master take his place. They even hire a metaphysics master early on to switch his fate with that of the real young master.
Ji Tongchen bears no resentment. He feels guilty toward Ji Guang for having taken the life that should have been his. He gives his "younger brother," who has suffered abuse since childhood and grown timid and insecure, everything he wants, determined to lead him out of the darkness and return everything that belongs to him.
No one knows that Ji Tongchen is an all-purpose firefighter for the Transmigration Bureau. In this same shared universe, he's also responsible for three other novels about fake and real young masters.
The plots are different, but his mission is always the same: be the older brother, save the real young master, then step aside.

The first half of Ji Guang's life is full of hardship, the second half full of luxury. Everyone eagerly treats him well, but the only person who ever gently reached out and pulled him out of the mire was that one man.
Even if he has to break that man's wings, he will keep him bound to his side forever.
But after fighting tooth and nail to reach a position of power, he turns back to find that the man has already fallen, turning himself into the steps that helped Ji Guang ascend to the heavens.
In this vast sea of people, there is no trace of him.
Ji Guang's heart stops. He abandons the greatest opportunity of his life and runs recklessly into the mansion, now engulfed in flames, where his brother had been imprisoned.
If his brother is gone, he doesn't want to live either.
.
But in the burning building, he encounters three other men, all consumed with regret.
They say that his brother is their brother, too.
* Dog-blooded love triangle, 1v1 ending
* He transmigrates into four books. This blurb only covers the first. The stories are told in an interwoven format, like a slow transmigration, but share a universe. The protagonist plays a different fake-young-master role in each book.
What doesn't change is that every real young master will bang his head against a wall for him.
