The Twelfth Summer After He Disappeared

In the middle of a summer downpour, the boy at the bus stop still had eyes that shone like stars through the curtain of rain.

"See you tomorrow!"

The bus was about to pull away into the bustling traffic and crowd. At the very last second before the doors closed, Sheng Fengdu finally worked up the courage to call out to the person aboard.

Xie Meng looked at him and finally smiled. "See you tomorrow."

The bus pulled away, but Sheng Fengdu remained at the stop, watching it go without taking a single step. Xie Meng watched him in the rearview mirror, understanding all the longing and hope in his eyes, yet knowing all too well...

This was the beginning of his twelve-year journey to uncover the cause of his own death, alone.
