The novel's biggest villain has a special quirk: he takes in a whole lot of black-and-white pets.
That night, desperate to survive, Luo An flops down right at the villain's feet.

To avenge the original body's wrongful accusation, Luo An joins the villain's side and racks his brains every day trying to cozy up to the big villain, Feng Qing.
When the power goes out at Feng Qing's base, Luo An turns into a bunny pancake and burrows into his blankets to keep him warm.
When Feng Qing mutates into his full giant serpent-eagle form, the little bunny holds up a comb taller than himself to groom his feathers.
When Feng Qing pursues the zombie tide, Luo An hops along behind him, smug as can be, doing his utmost to be a good little pet rabbit.
In the end, Feng Qing sees through his act.
The handsome, long-haired man with a mouthful of sharklike teeth leans down and pinches Luo An's trembling, fluffy rabbit ear. His voice is teasing. "Why can you always predict danger in advance?"
Luo An suddenly feels uneasy.
How is he supposed to tell the big villain that he's already read the script?

Feng Qing adopts a rabbit on a whim.
A black-and-white dairy cow rabbit, completely different from a cow cat, and seemingly quite good at reading the room.
Until one day the rabbit's ears shoot up as he picks a fight, and the next day he secretly tattles with red-rimmed eyes.
Everyone tearfully complains that he's ruining the base's atmosphere. Feng Qing merely strokes the little rabbit on his lap, unhurriedly soothing his fur.
"He's timid and usually only likes carrots. Don't scare him."
Who would have thought that the next day, a thunderous boom would ring out at the base's entrance?
With his fur standing on end in an explosion of curls, Luo An bounces back excitedly, carrying a new weapon synthesized by the System. His long ears sway in the smoke.
"Boss! Check out this cannon I made with the mineral elements you gave me. Is it awesome or what?"
Later, the hero and heroine of the original novel learn about Luo An's abilities, break into the base, and kidnap him.
Only then does everyone truly see how terrifying Feng Qing is when he's angry.

Luo An's nesting season arrives. He wants to build a nest but is afraid it'll hurt. What should he do?
Collect some feathers, of course. Feng Qing's feathers.
One, two, mixed in with his own black-and-white down, they're hard to spot.
One day, while Feng Qing is dozing, Luo An wriggles over and secretly plucks a tail feather. A powerful force sweeps him onto the bed.
Feng Qing: I was wondering why my feathers seemed to be thinning lately. So there's a little thief around.
Luo An is both embarrassed and furious. But when he's pushed into the nest he built, he can only take one piece of Feng Qing's belongings after another out of the messy nest, as if making amends.
Feng Qing: How long does it take a male rabbit to get pregnant?
Luo An: o.O?
Luo An again: /////////!!
