Synopsis
(The blurb still needs some polishing, but the premise is set. If you're interested, please add it to your collection! OwO~~)
In one sentence: The person I hate is actually my wife from hundreds of years ago.
A willful (and slightly) unhinged divine beast with an intensely possessive streak who escaped from Heaven, seme x a demon hunter with a terrible reputation but formidable strength, aloof yet softhearted, uke
The blurb:
Wen He was a Azure Dragon who had caused trouble. One day, he escaped from the heavenly prison and came to the mortal world, going from the greatest of Heaven's Four Divine Beasts to a little snake thinner than a stick.
He had been filled with resentment, but after wandering around the human world for a while, he realized it was actually quite interesting.
Except for one thing.
There was a demon hunter named Jiang Ciqing, infamous for his many misdeeds and despised by everyone. From the moment he first saw Wen He, he chased after him every single day.
Don't be fooled by how decent this man looked. His personality was dull and boring. It was as if he had eyes growing on Wen He's body: wherever Wen He went, the man would find him the very next moment. He even insisted Wen He agree to do something for him, or else he'd use him to boost his performance record.
Wen He was furious. He felt so insulted. What was this demon hunter's problem, picking on him? He was a dragon, not some little monster causing trouble in the human world!
But the main reason he hated Jiang Ciqing was something else.
Wen He had never told anyone that every night, a blurry figure appeared in his dreams. He couldn't make out the person's face, but he knew they had treated him well.
Every time he walked closer, hoping to pull that person into his arms, the figure would suddenly plunge into a pitch-black abyss. He had dreamed this thousands of times, but never once managed to save them.
All he could do was hear himself screaming the person's name until his voice was hoarse: "Jiang Ciqing!"
So that damn demon hunter didn't deserve that name at all!
That was why Wen He loathed him.
Until one day, he woke up drenched in sweat, sneezed twice, and opened his eyes.
He was lying in the middle of a field, one arm around Jiang Ciqing's waist. Jiang Ciqing had his back to him, and the nape of his neck, which had been perfectly fine before, was covered in Wen He's bite marks.
Jiang Ciqing had never told anyone that he had some memories from a previous life.
They came only in fragments and were very vague. He vaguely remembered raising a dragon. When that dragon took human form, he was an exceptionally handsome man. He often proudly told Jiang Ciqing that he was a divine beast who had slipped down from Heaven, and that Jiang Ciqing had better treat him well.
But later, Jiang Ciqing remembered dying.
He had forgotten what killed him. All he knew was that as he died, he watched the sky grow farther and farther away. That person called his name, and it seemed that a tear was carried over by the wind and landed on his fingertip.
He remembered that face.
Jiang Ciqing used to think those memories didn't belong to him, so he dismissed them. But when he happened to see that face, now extraordinarily pale, on a street in Yucheng, he still followed him quietly.
Jiang Ciqing knew the man had probably run into danger, so he made protecting him in secret his own responsibility.
Until one day, he woke up lying in a tangle of grass, covered in marks and feeling something rather unpleasant behind him.
There was also a dragon scale caught in his rumpled clothes.
Jiang Ciqing silently decided that he could put this task on hold for a while.
Past and present lives, saving each other
Wen He (seme) x Jiang Ciqing (uke)
The seme is sharp-tongued early on, and later there's a groveling-for-forgiveness arc (sorry, this is exactly my thing).
They are both completely in love with each other.
Theme: Never forget, never lose sight of each other
