Shen Mingzhu, a fourth-rank official's daughter, lived a fairly contented life after marrying Xie Zonghuan, the top third-place graduate of the imperial examinations.
Her husband had the bearing of a crane and pine, and the countenance of jade. He was exactly the sort of man she had taken a liking to at first sight.
He was usually quiet and cool, but he never let her have a peaceful night.
Though born into a humble family, he was diligent and devoted to his duties, striving to make his mark at court and earning promotion after promotion.
So even when he was transferred to the northwest and they lived apart for over three years, Shen Mingzhu believed there was still affection between them. She kept her temper in check, cared for her mother-in-law, and managed the household.
Who could have guessed that after a palace coup, he would become a hero who had come to the emperor's aid, holding the power of life and death in his hands? Not only did he bring back the cousin who had been his unattainable first love, he also ordered her family estate surrounded!
Looking at the man's eyes, now filled with contempt and loathing, Shen Mingzhu trembled. Only then did she realize that it had all been a delusion she had immersed herself in.
Luckily, Heaven took pity on her. When she opened her eyes, she had been reborn. She gazed at the beautiful woman in the mirror, radiant as snow. This time, things would be different.

Xie Zonghuan concealed his background and plotted with care. He married Shen Mingzhu only because he had happened upon her when she fell into the water and saved her.
His opinion of her could be summed up in three words: pampered, alluring, and, all in all, virtuous.
But once she had married him, he would treat her well, as duty and affection required. Just as he was about to bring her with him to the heights of power, he suddenly returned to the day he had first entered court, still poor and uncelebrated.
And in this life, remembering the intense passion they had once shared, he resolved that he would never willingly give her up.
Yet when they met again, the woman spoke coldly to him, utterly unlike her former self. There was no place for him in her eyes anymore.
Xie Zonghuan crushed the cup in his palm. "Why has she suddenly changed her mind?"

A note for readers: Both leads are reborn; marriage before love; 1v1, with him pursuing her after the breakup; misunderstandings from their previous life.
Theme: Live as yourself, and make your life shine.
It's so good. I finished watching 🧋 in one sitting. It's charming and not vulgar. I wish we could meet each other in popo [Lie Flat]. It would be great if there was a sequel. I also want to see their sweet daily bickering after marriage.
[Glasses] The author's generous description is refreshing
Hostess, go out and take a look, it's a rare opportunity
Is this the writing style of a new author? Unbelievable, great
It's great to watch, and the male protagonist's comments about the young boy are so funny.
It's nice to read, and the teacher's writing is really good. I just can't get enough of it. I want to see more of the post-marriage extras and what happens to the young couples in the future. 🤩
I'm really convinced. It's useless for two people to have mouths, and they probably don't like each other much. The male protagonist didn't react much when he found out that his mother had hurt the female protagonist's body. He was just shocked. In fact, I really let down the setting and writing. I wanted to read on, but there were too many bad things that were hard to swallow.
This plot really makes me angrier the more I watch it
Kneel down quickly, dog, kneel down quickly, dog 🧎🏻♀️Kneel down, it looks great, I love this kind of pulling, come on, author⛽
Damn, I'll update it every day. It's not enough.
