The day Nan Xing found out her crush had a girlfriend, she was holding a cup of milk tea she had planned to give him.
Before she could even work up a proper sense of sadness, a sudden downpour drenched her from head to toe, nearly turning her into a drowned rat.
As she hurried along with the milk tea, looking for somewhere to shelter from the rain, a shadow suddenly fell over her head. An umbrella shielded her from the downpour.
She looked up in surprise and saw a scowl.
It was none other than Shi Yue, her childhood friend, who had been giving her the silent treatment for half a month.
Shi Yue looked down at her with dark eyes that practically said, Are you stupid? Can't you find somewhere to hide when it rains?
Nan Xing pouted and grabbed his arm without a second thought, wailing, "Shi Yue, I've been dumped! Waaaaah!"

The rain came and went in a flash.
Using her heartbreak as an excuse, Nan Xing dragged Shi Yue to the most expensive barbecue restaurant outside the school gates, then waved her hand and ordered up a storm, making him pay through the nose.
When the food arrived, Nan Xing dug in while talking nonstop about how heartbroken she was.
Shi Yue rolled his eyes and said, "I told you, you have terrible taste in people. Couldn't you tell he didn't like you?"
"Are you saying nobody wants me?"
Before he could reply, she rubbed the skewer in her hand and glared fiercely at him. "Shi Yue, if you dare say yes, I'll use this skewer to finish you off!"
Shi Yue cleared his throat. "That's not what I meant."
Nan Xing's eyes widened. "Then what did you mean?"
After a long silence, he hesitated before speaking. "I meant, maybe you should try liking someone else."
"Xingxing, stop liking him. Like me instead."
