(The story will be revised.)
From an intern doctor to a little beggar with only one breath left, Shi Jiyue could hardly believe her eyes. She might as well have kept pulling all-nighters in the brightly lit hospital.
Fortunately, she had the System to rely on, and her expertise suited the task. By gathering and selling medicinal herbs, she finally escaped the life of a beggar.
The man she rescued from the mountain complained every day that the medicine was too hot and the food too tough. Did he have any idea what it meant to be living under someone else's roof? She wanted so badly to poison him!
At last, he recovered and left, and Shi Jiyue packed up and departed the town as well.
When a person gets too famous, trouble follows. Just as she'd begun to make a name for herself as a physician, both the man and a whole host of problems came knocking.
Under an imperial authority that always held itself above everyone else, how could there be equal love? It seemed she still wasn't clearheaded enough.
She'd better stick to running her medicine shop.
Nan Chu opened his eyes to a shabby little courtyard, a badly injured body, and a sharp-tongued doctor. He'd been framed and left on the brink of death, but did things really have to be this close?
Still, that simple little courtyard gave him the happiest, most carefree days of his life.
The little doctor was of rather low status, though. Once the trouble in the royal city was settled, he would take her back and make her a secondary consort.
Later, would making her his princess consort be too much of a burden for her?
Later still, in the middle of the night, a man in a bright yellow robe leaned drunkenly against the door of the medicine shop.
"Jiyue, please open the door." His voice was full of grievance. "I didn't touch her."
[The heroine is always clearheaded. The hero watches himself fall deeper and deeper, fully aware of it, while his boundaries keep shifting.]
Scene 1:
Jiyue stood by the training ground, watching the soldiers sweat under the morning sun, their figures shining brightly.
"Do you think they're handsome?" Nan Chu stood behind her. His voice was so cold that goosebumps rose on the back of Jiyue's neck.
