Chi Li has a husband.
Chi Li tells everyone he is dead.
"He died in a car accident."
Sometimes he died of an illness, sometimes in a fall from a cliff, sometimes of sudden death from alcoholism. In short, Fan Yu was dead.
Fan Yu had so many different deaths, but when faced with the probing looks of business partners, Chi Li always gave the same answer:
"I am deeply saddened."
"I am deeply saddened by the death of my beloved, Fan Yu. But even in my grief, I will carry on my husband's legacy and lead Liyu Group toward an even more prosperous future."
Five years ago, while on their honeymoon, Chi Li left Fan Yu overseas with a cup of poisoned wine, then quite naturally inherited Liyu Group through Fan Yu's will.
But five years later, perhaps because he'd died too hurriedly back then, his "husband" Fan Yu couldn't rest in peace. A contact that couldn't be deleted mysteriously appeared on Chi Li's phone. There were always signs that someone else had slept beside him, and the light in Fan Yu's bedroom would sometimes turn on in the middle of the night.
Stranger still, a pen on the table would write a line of damp handwriting all by itself:
"I'm back."
Chi Li decided to hold Fan Yu an extra-lavish funeral and invite several masters to give him a grand send-off to the afterlife.
"Preferably the kind where his soul is scattered and he can never be reincarnated," Chi Li requested.
But on the day of the funeral, the weather suddenly changed. A gusting yin wind rose, and the expert performing the ritual spat blood three feet into the air and shouted, "There's a ghost!"
Chi Li refused to believe it. He took a red-eye flight that very night to the place where Fan Yu's bones had been buried. Under a moonless sky, at a desolate mass grave, Chi Li dug with a shovel, but found nothing.
Suddenly, a pair of arms wrapped around his waist. A man's voice, cold and eerie, asked:
"I hear you've been telling everyone I'm dead?"

"The burial ground is our bridal chamber, and the funeral is our wedding."
*The top is a real ghost, one who can take physical form.
Chi Li: My dead husband has come back from the underworld to kill me.

[Reader's Guide]
1. One-on-one, happy ending, both pure, dual perspectives, no switching or separating the pairing.
