The Great Virtuous Teacher obtained the Art of Great Peace. With a bowl of talisman water, he saved the people and recruited countless followers.
Wei Cheng believed in him, too, and prayed for help. But that bowl of talisman water could not save the life of his beloved family member.
Everyone said it was because his faith was not sincere enough.
At first, Wei Cheng believed those ridiculous claims. But later, after receiving the divine revelation of the Book of Nanming, he sat before his parents' graves for three days and three nights. In a single moment of enlightenment, he finally understood two things:
First, medicine could not save the Han dynasty.
Second, he could not pass the exams to enter Luoyang, but he could fight his way in.
He wanted to see Luoyang on behalf of the starving corpses that littered Henei, to see the Han court full of high officials and nobles in that city of music and revelry.
Was it really so impossible to reach?

1. Couple: Wei Cheng x Xun Yu. An emperor's treacherous minister who wields great power x an upright gentleman who maintains balance. The gong is always the pursuer.
2. The story supports the Han dynasty, not rebellion against it. The Lingdi has original elements but will not be whitewashed.
3. The story draws on The History of the Southern Ming, Records of the Three Kingdoms, Book of the Later Han, and the Romance of the Three Kingdoms. The timeline is chaotic, and this is a semi-alternate historical spin-off. Please don't nitpick historical details. (2024.11.25)
Theme: Better to lose the country than to stop infighting. As long as life goes on, so does the infighting.
