Zhou Qian and Cen Lin first met on a rainy day. In a narrow alley, her bruised face was reflected in a puddle of muddy water.

Cen Lin looked completely out of place here. In his clean white shirt, he seemed like a beam of light suddenly shining into Zhou Qian's eyes in the gray weather and gray world, making her disheveled state stand out all the more.

"What are you looking at? Want a beating?" Zhou Qian crunched the candy in her mouth.

Those were the first words she said to him.

By a twist of fate, they became deskmates. A place that was usually ignored suddenly grew lively with Cen Lin around.

There were two reasons: first, he was good at school; second, he was handsome.

Annoyed by all the attention, Zhou Qian simply withdrew to the other side and watched with her chin in her hand.

Then she saw three girls corner Cen Lin in an alley to confess to him. Unable to stand by, Zhou Qian stepped in to help, and naturally became his big sister.

But even a big sister sometimes needs a little brother to protect her. Zhou Qian was framed, her hands and feet tied behind her, and thrown into an unfinished building. She had been afraid of the dark since childhood, and now she trembled in terror.

With a crash, someone kicked through the window. The handsome boy's face was scratched and bleeding from the broken glass, but he paid it no mind and pulled her into his arms. "Idiot, how could you fall for something like this?"

After that, their relationship changed again. You call the shots on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday; I call them on Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday. Sunday is a day off for both of us.

In the days when Cen Lin had her under his thumb, Zhou Qian was nearly drowning in a sea of studying.

She couldn't take it anymore. At the start, she'd been the one sitting on his head like an emperor. Zhou Qian decided to end their big-sister-and-little-brother arrangement.

She never expected that announcing their breakup would end with her pinned against a wall by her six-foot-two little brother, unable to move. Cen Lin's voice was pained but restrained. "Zhou Qian, don't leave me."

But the person who'd said she couldn't leave was the first to leave. Zhou Qian was alone again. She sneered. "Liar."

When they met again, he had become her lawyer, defending her and winning her case.

But he refused payment. "Zhou Qian, date me."

In a red dress, she was alluring and dangerous. She turned the knife around and pressed it to his neck. "Cen Lin, I'm the one who decides where this relationship goes, not you."

The man looked at her with warm eyes, his intent clear. He took hold of the blade and lowered it to his heart. "You can decide. My heart is yours, too."

He willingly stepped into a dangerous place.
