Getting Cozy with Saiki

[Complete, so dive in with confidence!]

After moving to Left Abdominal Rib Town, I found out my neighbor was a ghost.

I carefully got along with him. We walked home together after school, played games together during vacations, and sometimes went shopping together.

Whenever he accidentally let his ghost magic slip, I closed my eyes or looked away, pretending I hadn't noticed his true identity and doing my best to play the part of a harmless neighbor.

Until one day, he turned a classmate into a stone statue right in front of me.

Me, too late to cover my eyes: "...If I told you I suddenly went blind, would you believe me?"

Saiki: "...Idiot."

What's it like to date someone with superpowers?

He can turn into a cat, so even though I don't have time to look after a pet, I still get to enjoy all the cat cuddles I want!

He does resist turning into a cat, but as soon as I launch a hug attack, he gives in.

Saiki glances away awkwardly, his voice calm, though the tips of his ears turn red. "...Just this once."

Having a cat that doesn't shed and lets me pet him whenever I want is the best!

The ability to teleport is just too convenient. Even when I go back to my hometown, Saiki can appear in front of me in a second.

Even when we're far apart, we can study together at the same desk.

But why does he keep staring at me? Doesn't he get bored?

He's really clingy...

But this esper seems to be terrified of bugs. When there's a cockroach around, all he can do is crouch on the desk. Usually cool and detached, Saiki makes the cutest (crossed out) expression.

Like a cat hissing. Help, I really want to tease him a little!

The Outside Hitter Is Clearly Super Strong, Yet Way Too Cute

My name is Saiki Hane, and I'm 16 years old.

I have two older brothers.

My eldest brother is a genius with an IQ of 218, but he's an insanely overprotective siscon with a dark, twisted personality.

My second brother is a 2D god with superpowers, but he longs to be ordinary and genuinely believes himself to be unfortunate.

As for me, I have superpowers too.

My second brother told me that my ability has a very long name.

It's called... "If you notice me, I'll make you melt with cuteness."

Simply put, when people notice me, they can't help treating me like an adorable thing they love, and may even accidentally say things like "So cute!" or "Kawaii!"

For an idol hoping to debut, this power would be pretty useful.

But I'm 187.4 cm tall.

My expression is a cold, unpleasant scowl.

I'm good at powerful spikes in volleyball.

Me? Cute?

Is this world really okay?

So I'm the most unfortunate person in the world, aren't I!!!?

That year, Aoba Johsai's volleyball team shone brightly, fighting its way from the regional qualifiers all the way to the IH finals and winning the championship.

Besides their best setter, another player caught everyone's attention: an outside hitter.

Whenever he leapt high at the net and swung his arm, sending the volleyball crashing into the other side's court with a rush of wind, everyone, whether opponent, teammate, or spectator, couldn't help shouting:

"So cute!!!"

Saiki Hane: "..."

Cute my foot.

His spikes are seriously powerful!!!

Post-match press conference.

Reporter 1: "Saiki, what do you think you contributed to Aoba Johsai's remarkable run in this tournament? Was it... an adorableness assault... I mean, what areas did you contribute in?"

Reporter 2: "Saiki Hane had such an impressive result in his first major tournament. His ability and cuteness rating... um, his performance are inseparable from his regular practice..."

Reporter 3: "Now that the competition has ended successfully, are you satisfied with your performance...? Here, kitty, kitty, kitty... Ahem! ...Are you satisfied?"

"..."

Saiki Hane turned and walked away.
