Shen Jiu is a black stone. She doesn't remember how she became a spirit, or why she appeared here.
The moment she opened her eyes, a "person" forcibly handed her an admission letter.
They mistook her for a newly awakened little witch.
Shen Jiu slowly figured out that she was in a war-torn steam era, where, alongside the thunder of cannon fire, all manner of strange magical creatures roamed.
Even hiding in a school for witches, surviving in this era would not be easy.
Humans who sought to eliminate those unlike themselves and magical creatures driven by a desire to conquer both wanted to meddle in each other's worlds.
Amid the roar of cannon fire, no one could remain untouched.
Romance summary:

After thinking it over, Shen Jiu decided she should come clean to her best friends.
"There's good news and bad news." She felt especially guilty as her roommates gathered around and stared at her.
"The bad news is that he's five hundred years old."
The young women were shocked.
"A wizard that old? What were you thinking?"
"Did you fall asleep in Ancient Magical Script class this morning?"
"Even if it's finals, you don't need to be this stressed out!!"
