Synopsis
A trope-filled story that rebels against tropes and melodrama.
Blurb One:
Cheng Shi had run into a huge problem.
After more than twenty years of life, someone suddenly appeared and told him, "You're the fake Cheng Shi. I'm the real one."
While he was still confused, the person added, "No, that's not right. We're both the real Cheng Shi."
And so, Cheng Shi's life, which had once seemed to stretch straight ahead with nothing unexpected in store, was thrown into turmoil.
He left his cold, heartless parents, abandoned the job and burdens he hated, and cut off contact with his friends. Just as he was feeling lost, someone entered Cheng Shi's world with both gentleness and force.
The rusty gears began to turn smoothly again, and a destiny that had stalled started to change course.
Blurb Two:
Yu Yu always felt that he had forgotten something important.
But he had always been meticulous and never forgotten even the smallest thing. He had never once messed up the holiday gifts he needed to send to his various distant relatives.
He kept this strange feeling tucked away in his heart and focused on his life as it was, caring for his beloved just as he had always hoped he would.
Then one day, the answer was revealed.
The past played out before Yu Yu's eyes, dispelling every doubt he had.
Blurb Three:
Xiao Wang finished reading the saved manuscript with satisfaction. "Come on, everyone, say a few words to help Mom promote the book."
Li Zhi was always the first to jump in. "Welcome, everyone, to the story of how we all grew up."
"Zhizhi, why are you so formal?" Cheng Shi teased. "That's not like you at all."
"Hmph. Decent people should act decent when the moment calls for it, right, Brother Sanyu?" Li Zhi chimed in.
Yu Yu looked at Cheng Shi's mock-threatening expression and replied with a barely suppressed smile, "Maybe. But then again, I'm not going to act decent today." He steered the conversation back on course. "How could decent people help Mom promote her book?"
Seeing Li Zhi about to protest, Chen Hao cut in: "I hope that after reading our story, everyone will be as determined as we are to do what they want."
Bu Jiefa immediately followed with a summary, not giving the chatterboxes another chance to speak.
"We hope you enjoy it."
Content warnings:
1. The melodramatic fake-and-real rich heirs trope, but they get along peacefully.
2. The melodramatic pseudo-incest trope, but it makes sense.
3. The melodramatic transmigration method, which may be a little rushed.
4. The melodramatic fall-in-love-after-getting-together trope. Sanyu and Cheng establish their relationship first, then their feelings deepen.
5. A dramatic plot, though Xiao Wang thinks the logic holds together.
6. New author, and I think my writing is only average.
7. Lots of chatter, sometimes a little too much. Xiao Wang gets overwhelmed by it while editing.
