After shooting himself on the rooftop, Morofushi Hiromitsu thought his life had come to an end.
And that was true: his life had ended. But his life as a cat was only just beginning.
After his owner picked him up and took him home, Hiromitsu the cat had to take on the responsibility of making sure his useless owner didn't starve to death.
His owner, Miss Ochiai Aori, had a somewhat bizarre thought process and worldview. But she was a kind, gentle person, completely unconnected to the darkness. That was what Hiromitsu the cat always thought.
Until one day, Miss Ochiai Aori revealed a strangely patterned tentacle right in front of him.

How do you take care of a cat?
Give him a comfortable, safe place to live, plenty of delicious food and fun toys, deal with mortal threats on his behalf, give him a reasonable amount of freedom so he can pursue his own catly goals, keep him happy, and make sure he knows how important he is to you... That's how you raise a cat.
Miss Ochiai Aori thought taking care of a cat was such a hassle. But cats were so cute, she could put up with it.
Other than the canon pairings, there are no romantic pairings in this story. The relationship between Miss Owner and Hiromitsu the cat is purely that of owner and pet.
Miss Owner is a Cthulhu Mythos-style eldritch god (genuinely Lovecraftian, and possibly a little hardcore). In Their eyes, humans and cats aren't much different. They see humans about as humans see ants. Since Hiromitsu is Their devoted one, He seems like a cute little cat to Them. If this isn't to your taste, please don't complain. You can drop the story at any time.

A story where everyone gets saved (though perhaps not in the most appropriate way), a lighthearted power fantasy (Miss Owner is invincible). I solemnly swear I won't make you cry.
