In his previous life, Chi Yuhuai rescued a seriously injured black dragon. The little dragon was nothing like the vicious dragons in the rumors. Every day, it begged him to take it in, rolling around and acting spoiled.

After it took human form, Chi Yuhuai accepted it as his disciple, hoping it would uphold the righteous path and treat others with kindness.

But things didn't go as planned. The dragon that had once clung to his leg and refused to leave eventually left the sect and became an evil dragon, wreaking havoc among humankind. When Chi Yuhuai opened his eyes again, he was back at the time the little dragon had just joined the sect. Believing he'd been too strict and had failed as a teacher in his previous life, he resolved to show it more affection and raise it all over again.

So he accompanied the little dragon everywhere.

1. My take on cultivation. The setting exists to serve the romance.

2. A sweet bedtime story. Early on, the characters fight monsters and act cute; later, they come up with every excuse to cuddle.

3. Both are reborn, dual POV, 1v1, younger gong. They only love each other in both lives, and it has a happy ending.

4. The gong didn't do anything bad in his previous life. All misunderstandings will be cleared up.

5. There is a little angst in the flashbacks, but the present is all sugar. The story focuses on romance and has lots of fragmented memories.

Shou's perspective:

Wen Zheqiu was a Matchmaker who spent most of his time in the mortal realm, cutting red strings.

These bonds had run their course, but their owners were too attached to let go. As long as one person refused to move on, the other couldn't form a new bond. Wen Zheqiu had to find a way to cut the strings for them.

In other words, he talked people into breaking up.

Wen Zheqiu always knew what to say to both humans and ghosts, and he was quick at splitting up couples.

The Celestial Lord was impressed by his ability to handle pressure. One night, he sent his own young heir over, begging Wen Zheqiu to take him away and teach him some manners.

According to the rumors, this young prince was terribly unruly. His tongue was as poisonous as a blade, and he picked fights at the slightest provocation. He spent his days causing trouble in the immortal realm, making the celestial officials' lives miserable.

To avoid meeting the same fate, and to fulfill his boss's request while he was at it, Wen Zheqiu came up with a bellyful of brilliant plans and prepared to spoil his new disciple rotten.

During their red-string missions, Chang Yuefeng was diligent and considerate in every way, the perfect model of a devoted disciple.

When he had to stake out someone connected to a red string, Chang Yuefeng would crouch down and let him lean on his back while he waited.

When the red-string targets often hit Wen Zheqiu in the face, Chang Yuefeng never failed to shield him, then cradle his face and kiss him.

Sometimes Wen Zheqiu hesitated over whether to cut a red string, and Chang Yuefeng would hold his hand and say, "Matters of the heart are complicated. Let me teach you, Master."

By the time Wen Zheqiu came to his senses, they were already sharing a bed every night.

He opened the Book of Marriage almost without thinking, only to find a red string bearing his name and Chang Yuefeng's.

Wen Zheqiu thought he was dreaming. He checked it several nights in a row, then, overcome with curiosity about whether the string was real, sneaked off to a deserted place and tried to cut it.

He had barely begun snipping when a hand seized his wrist, making it ache.

Chang Yuefeng had been watching him from behind for who knew how long. His dark eyes seemed to be burning.

Wen Zheqiu gave an awkward laugh. "Your Highness, look how fun this is. Our red string can't be cut, huh?"

Before he could finish joking, he finally saw what people meant when they said even the gods feared this prince.

Bound by his own red string between the bed curtains, all that remained of his usually quick-witted tongue were pleas for mercy.
