Original title: Curse, Give Me Back My Long Life!
[Immortal, fun-loving top × INTJ, cool-headed, sharp-tongued, short-lived bottom]
Lin Ruxi is unlucky enough to be fated to die at thirty. He crosses half of China in search of a way to break his short-life curse.
One day, he receives a keepsake from his mother, along with a laid-back man.
He stuffs the keepsake in his pocket and kicks the man into a ditch.
Or tries to.
The guesthouse collapses, and a grotesque living corpse emerges into the daylight. The man carries Lin Ruxi over his shoulder as he experiences his first ever leap through a wall of flames.
Afterward, Lin Ruxi, his face blackened with soot, sharpens a knife without expression. "I'll pick one person between you and me, excluding myself. I'm not doing anything else, just picking."
Lu Bushi: :-D
.
Lu Bushi has lost the most important stretch of his life. He travels everywhere in search of his memories and succeeds in making himself penniless.
At his lowest point, he vaguely recalls the last words of a wealthy friend from long ago, so he rides straight for the grasslands. That very day, a nugget of gold lands in his arms.
This golden nugget is cold-tempered and aloof, ordering him around as if it were only natural.
Lu Bushi accepts it all and feels great about it. "Who says the young master's got a bad temper? You don't get it. This is called acting cute."
Later, after Lu Bushi regains his memory, he holds his wife's hand and strokes her slender waist, clinging to her with a hint of guilt. "Honey, how did you choose me, hold on to me, and never leave me when I had amnesia?"
Lin Ruxi: "I didn't choose you, hold on to you, or hug you. You were the one who threw yourself at me."
Lu Bushi: T^T
The second book in the Southwest Underground trilogy!
(Enjoy it alongside The Warrior, or read it on its own.)
**
I'm terrible at writing blurbs...
Still an underground adventure (with a second-chance romance),
still mildly scary, about forty percent scary,
still mutually doting,
a power couple working together.
Theme: Do not fear the dark
