Qiu Mingyao and her roommate won limited testing slots for the world's first fully immersive, full-sensation holographic online game, Arrival, developed by some unknown company. The prize also included a complimentary VR headset from the game company.
Once in the game, Qiu Mingyao first lost contact with her roommate and became an orphan, then inexplicably had both the NPCs and the game force a contract on her, making her a lord.
The game was strange and its quests seemed hastily thrown together, but the rewards were great!
Later, the game world descended upon reality and humanity fell. As Qiu Mingyao and her roommates fought monsters and rescued people, they got caught up in a conflict and were driven out of their camp. Then came a notification: Ding! Contract activated. Territory terrain scan complete. Teleport to your territory?
While the surrounding player camps were destroyed in wave after wave of sieges, Qiu Mingyao's territory already had high walls and arrow towers.

Lin Xia, an office worker, used to spend her weekends revising designs at work, stocking up on groceries, then going home to lie flat and play games.
Reality, however, loaded her into hell mode
The promised survival game turned into a real-life survival game, and people were forcibly kidnapped on their way to work.
There were no guide NPCs, and even the beginner's weapon had to be provided by the player.

She fixed her eyes on Combat, then clicked the other option instead, changing class to the sole available profession: Mechanic.
While others punched trees with their bare hands, she dismantled doors and walls.
From then on, Lin Xia's path to survival went increasingly off the rails. She took things apart and put them back together, while selling weapons and blueprints on the side.
