A goofy slice-of-life comedy where the snarky side character saves the world!
Passerby A is a low-profile figure with barely any presence at the police academy. An utterly unremarkable extra in the backdrop of every incident, he peacefully goes about his daily routine, until one day his instructor suddenly drags him into the interview room.
Inside, a familiar curly-haired classmate is slamming the table in frustration. "I told you I didn't do it! I just climbed over the wall that night to buy some oden!"
The Public Security official across from him gives a dismissive snort, then fixes Passerby A with a sharp gaze. "What about you? Someone saw you leave campus without permission three nights ago. Where did you go?"
Passerby A: ...Sorry, there's no way I can admit I secretly work as an underground idol!
The soon-to-be retired idol Passerby A gives them a dead-fish stare.
Passerby B, a woman, is a character with the same model as Passerby A. She's straddling her motorcycle near the police academy, waiting for her teammates to get out for a day of shopping, when two handsome strangers brazenly rush over and hop onto the back seat. "A, quick, follow that car!"
Passerby B: ...Sure.
Passerby A: "Those five gorillas in the class next door are completely absurd! Who gets that enthusiastic about work? Are they crazy?!"
Passerby B looks with awe at the neighboring troublemakers' impressive record of solving case after case while still at the academy. "They're so dazzling."
That said, staying around people with so much protagonist potential means getting dragged into trouble time and again.
Hagiwara: "Then let's do a ritual to turn our luck around!"
Passerby: "Wait, don't just perform rituals willy-nilly! Aaaah!"
The expired eldritch god Passerby B gives them a dead-eyed stare.
Notes:
The two passersby live on the sidelines and watch the action. There's very little idol content in practice, and the protagonist has already quit. No pairings, though the author may make things seem a little gay. Includes lots of scenes where Passerby A and B are mistaken for forbidden lovers, as well as parodic antics at the expense of the original characters.
