There is a saying that Zhang'an has seven oddballs: Yishan, Erhai, Sanhe, Sihai, Wuhu, Liuhua, and Qishu.
Yishan makes a living chopping firewood. He's a big, honest, kindhearted man. Years ago, he found his frail, sickly second older sister, Erhai, and brought her home to nurse her back to health. To his surprise, her health gradually improved.
Erhai is gentle, and she usually looks after everyone. Unfortunately, she's not very strong, and every change of season leaves her bedridden for ten days or half a month. One day, while buying fish at the market, Erhai ran into Sanhe at Wanjia Ferry. Starving and dizzy, Sanhe had risked stealing from a fishing family. Erhai stopped the fisherman from dragging Sanhe off to report her, paid him back for what she'd stolen, and took her home.
Sanhe is ill-tempered and unconventional. She's stolen buns and picked people's pockets more times than anyone can count, but she has an unrelenting hatred of child traffickers. To understand why, you have to know where Sanhe came from! She was once the daughter of a wealthy family. As a child, she was mischievous and sneaked out to admire the lanterns during the Lantern Festival, only to be kidnapped by traffickers. Luckily, little Sanhe was clever. One day, when the traffickers got drunk, she made a desperate escape. After many twists and turns, she eventually made it to Zhang'an Prefecture. She suffered plenty along the way...
Will their ten-year promise finally come true?
