The Martial Immortal Emperor of the Nine Heavens is about to descend to the mortal realm to undergo a tribulation.
The news excites the Demon God Beimian, who plans to seize this opportunity to keep him trapped in the mortal realm and clear the greatest obstacle to the Demon Realm's war against the heavens.
However, the gods of the Immortal and Demon Realms have agreed not to interfere in the mortal world at will. So Beimian separates part of his divine soul and sends it down as well, all to obstruct his old rival's tribulation.
But when he eagerly descends to check on things, he discovers that the half of himself he sent down has become a little fox with glossy fur. It wears a pretty ruqun and shivers in a ruined temple, its eyes so pure and clear that they seem untouched by the world.
---More importantly, the fox is carrying the Martial Immortal's child!
