■ Foster care | Pseudo-siblings | Healing | Reunion after years apart | Four-year age gap
All of Lu Fang’s friends knew he had two younger sisters.
One was his biological sister, who was practically a stranger to him. The other was a girl he wished he could keep by his side 24 hours a day, even though they weren’t related by blood.
Three-year-old Xin Si and seven-year-old Lu Fang were abducted and taken to a remote mountain village. They lived under the same roof, and even at that young age, he became her whole world.
He would tell her, “Be good, little sister. I’ll definitely get you out of here someday, send you to school, and make sure you get to eat meat.”
At twelve, he began keeping that promise. Taking eight-year-old Xin Si with him, he stumbled his way from the mountain village to the Lu family home in Licheng.
From then on, she lived with the Lu family, in a home where she knew no one but her big brother.
Until she was seventeen, when her mother found her and took her back. The two of them lost all contact, and there was no word from either side.

Six years later, at a Western restaurant.
Xin Si had just sat down with her “boyfriend” when the private-room door beside them suddenly opened. A long-missed figure appeared before her without warning. Their eyes met, and after a long moment, she called out awkwardly, “Big brother.”
Lu Fang still had sharp brows, bright eyes, and an air of dangerous confidence. But the warmth that had once been in his eyes was gone.
“Big brother? You mean me? I do have a younger sister, but I don’t think she looks like you. Are you that desperate for a big brother, miss?”
Later, snow buried the whole city.
On the rooftop, a layer of white snow covered Lu Fang’s shoulders, but his eyes were a striking red. “Sisi, do you know what I hate most?”
Xin Si’s nose was red from the cold, and her brows furrowed. “I don’t know!”
“I hate it most when you call me big brother. Save that word for your ex-boyfriend. He’s the real deal now.”
Xin Si’s voice choked, but a cold smile tugged at her lips. “If I call him big brother, what should I call you? Mr. Lu?”
Lu Fang suddenly pulled her into his arms and held her tightly against his chest. He spoke slowly, each word deliberate: “Sisi, do you know? We may both be family, but a big brother can never be as close as... a husband.”
"Please read before you begin"
1. The heroine was too young to know what the “si” in her name meant when she was abducted. “Si” was the name the hero gave her. After her mother found her, she changed it back to Xin Si.
2. The leads are not related by blood, and they are not registered in the same household.
3. The heroine’s “boyfriend” is a case of mistaken identity from the hero’s point of view.
4. The story opens with their reunion and uses flashbacks. Both leads are sexually inexperienced, and the hero is completely pure.
