One afternoon at 46.33° north latitude and 7.75° east longitude, Yun Duanyue opened her eyes in a hospital bed.
She turned her head and saw the winding Alps beyond the floor-to-ceiling window. Foreign doctors in white coats filed in, their voices full of concern. She couldn't help looking toward the machine quietly running beside her bed. Along its edge, a line of gold lettering read:
EternaLux Rejuvenator.
Yun Duanyue felt her heart sink.

Life after losing her memory was harder than she'd imagined.
Although her rumored fiancé brought her a fresh bouquet of Floyd roses every day, and the St. Moritz ski resort beside the sanatorium lived up to its reputation, Yun Duanyue still felt lonely and miserable.
That day, she was sitting by the ski slope, taking a break. Just then, a tall, striking figure hurried toward her.
"I'm sorry I'm late." The handsome man’s eyes reddened. He tenderly kissed her temple. "Let's get to know each other again. I'm your fiancé, Jiang Zhaoye."
Looking at his familiar yet unfamiliar face, Yun Duanyue hesitantly reached out to touch the back of his neck.
The body beneath her hand stiffened, then pulled her into a tight embrace.
-
Her lost memories did not return with time. Instead, Yun Duanyue would often lose consciousness.
With no other choice, her fiancé took her back to St. John's Sanatorium for treatment with the EternaLux Rejuvenator.
"Are you two close?"
She had just waved goodbye to her fiancé when Yun Duanyue suddenly heard a cool male voice behind her. It belonged to her fiancé's older brother.
Her heart skipped a beat. She turned and met his calm gaze, unexpectedly feeling a little ashamed.
"I..."
Apparently unwilling to hear her answer, the usually courteous man interrupted her: "Never mind. He is your fiancé, after all."
