When You're Out and About, You Make Up Your Own Identity

According to the Star Calendar, five hundred years ago, after the death of the last esteemed S-pheromone individual, the Alliance entered a century-long period of pheromone gland degeneration, officially known as the "Age of Suffocation."

Two hundred years ago, the first infant with the "Defect" trait was born. The child broke free of the intense dependence on pheromones and made history with an A-grade constitution, but also developed an extreme personality disorder that could never be corrected. They had to be imprisoned for life.

After that, a new generation of soldiers with the "Defect" trait stepped onto the historical stage. They all had mental deficiencies that could never be corrected. Then, a century ago, came the "Battle of the Chaotic Harbor." From then on, every soldier kept their "Defect" a closely guarded secret, lest anyone see through them.

Xia Yi had two secrets.

Her first secret was that her "Defect" was ridiculous. Even if it was only a matter of pride, she had to defend that secret with her life, because she loved to brag.

Xia Yi's second secret was that she'd grown pheromone glands...

The first boast Xia Yi made was that she'd become a new student at one of the four major military academies. In an era when children from poor planets could only attend fringe military schools, she studied with extraordinary determination and barely made it into the lowest-ranked of the four.

Her second boast was that she'd take first place in the freshman competition. To make it happen, she worked herself to the bone during the day and snuck out to pick people up at night, becoming a colorful "oddity" in the academy's history.

Her third boast was that she'd lead Dongling Military Academy back to first place...

Later, she boasted her way to becoming the youngest special forces commander in the galaxy.

The thing that gave Alliance scientists the biggest headache was that the more physically and mentally gifted a soldier was, the greater the impact of their "Defect." In short, they had a lot of problems!

The thing that puzzled Alliance scientists most was that the top soldiers in the Blue Sea Force who followed Xia Yi were all heaven's favorites. They acted like mad dogs in front of outsiders, but were all especially gentle and well-behaved around Xia Yi...
