Shuichi Akai happened to need a guardian, so he happily let the man move in.
When Subaru Okiya opened his eyes, he found a pretty little boy in front of him.
The boy was gifted and skilled, and had kindly taken him in.
Now Subaru Okiya only had two things to worry about:

Second, how was he supposed to raise this child, whose face looked exactly like his own beneath his mask?

It's so hard to come to Hayama for Wu Wu's reenactment. He and Shuichi are of the same line, and they both really trust each other when they say they trust. The reason he has for Subaru and Shuichi for Conan is because Wu Wu has been in the institution longer after all, so it takes a little longer to develop trust (actually it's not much longer)
