My new novel, The Princess Makes Her Move, is seeking bookmarks! The blurb is at the end.
The emperor arranged a marriage, betrothing Xiao Yannan, a refined young lady from a prominent family in Yubei, to Prince Yan.
The legendary Xiao Yannan had a face like peach blossoms and was brilliant beyond compare. If she hadn't been born in the north, she might have been the only one left with the title of one of Daye's Three Beauties.
In reality, Xiao Yannan found Prince Yan taciturn and unkempt, and was thoroughly put off by him the moment they met.
This marriage had to be called off, no matter what.
On a bitterly cold winter day, she got her wish. Prince Yan escorted her home and said, "If anything goes wrong on your way back, send someone to find me."
For some reason, Xiao Yannan's eyes stung and her heart felt heavy.
As the emperor's eldest son, Prince Yan had won countless military honors and was a formidable warrior. Yet he lived as if nothing mattered, because in his heart, his only purpose in life was to protect his country. What room was there for comfort?
But now he had a princess consort, and she happened to care about such things.
After he cleared away every obstacle and returned to her side, all he got in response was her disapproval.
"The cuffs on that robe are fraying. You're still wearing it?"
"Does the prince's estate not have enough money to buy you a pair of black boots?"
He stood beneath the covered corridor with his hands clasped, smiling at her until her face turned crimson and she couldn't say another word.

Before Jiang Heshan reclaimed her identity as a princess, she had once disguised herself and served for a few days as a maid in the study of the Duke of Zhen's heir.
That man had a truly foul mouth. He looked down on her for knowing so little and having no manners, then shamelessly offered to tutor her.
Jiang Heshan had a good temper. She settled things with a fight, then took advantage of his handsome face and got him drunk before having her way with him.
When she came back after a brush with death, she was shocked to find that the man had gotten married.
Jiang Heshan: "He seduced me and then abandoned me. Shameless."
At the palace banquet in the third month, the emperor named Song Qimo as a candidate to be the princess's consort, praising his looks, his skill in both civil and military affairs, and his general excellence. The princess said nothing, then turned around and cursed him as a bastard!
Song Qimo retorted without hesitation: "Your Majesty, I already have someone in my heart and have no wish to marry anyone else."
As he offered incense to his late wife at home, he murmured, "You're the only one I love. Don't be upset about the title of princess's consort. I'll get it withdrawn within three days."
But after his secret identity was revealed...
Song Qimo: "The wife I divorced is my wife?"
And I even picked her new consort myself?!
Theme: Cherish the person by your side.
I still hope that the extra chapter will be included in the main text, and there will be no shortage of these three melons and two dates 🐶. The words are too small.
Wouldn't the author consider writing a side story?! This ending seems very rushed. Although I am very grateful for the limited exemption~ Two small suggestions: 1. The writing is too obscure. For example, because Xiao Yannan thought that Yueniang would not lose herself because of love, and combined with the previous article, when Xiao Yandong left Yubei City, Yueniang was standing by the river, does this imply that Yueniang committed suicide by jumping into the river? Another example is that in the ending, King Yan and Concubine Xian are clearly having a conversation, and the following description shows King Yan rushing into the palace, and Concubine Xian said that the next step he takes is to kill his mother. This continuous action is very strange, and does it also imply that only King Yan and Concubine Xian are competing for the imperial power? If the previous article states that the other emperor's heirs have been killed by Concubine Xian, there will be no such doubt. 2. The description is too redundant. Almost every sentence has to stack nouns and adjectives, and use metaphors, such as "Yingrun" and other words throughout the text. The author can delete the complex and simplify it, and the reading will be smoother.
