The Rugged Man and the Delicate Maiden

After Chuchu marries Xu Yuan, the rugged man, she complains every day that all he knows is riding horses and shooting arrows, eating raw food, and that he can't even write poetry. He's always thinking about that sort of thing, too. He's terribly uncivilized. Even though he treats her with the utmost care, she never gives him a kind word.

Then he goes off to war and doesn't return for months. Gradually, her heart grows restless.

(He pursues her in the first part; they fall for each other in the latter part.)

Theme: Keep working hard and never give up.
