After dying suddenly from staying up all night, He Songluo transmigrates into the body of a bankrupt storyteller and finds herself in a nightmare scenario from the start: she owes loan sharks!
Thrown out of the teahouse where she'd been staying, she runs into the debt collector.
"Big brother, give me a break. Just give me ten days!"
And so, in a teahouse in a remote little town that barely makes a profit, scandalous tales of the royal family and nobility begin to circulate.
"Prince Jing grabs Xiao Xiao by the chin and says, 'Woman, you're playing with fire.'"
The clapper strikes the table, the folding fan flutters, and The Runaway Princess of the Domineering Prince is being performed in the teahouse.

With the help of a storytelling System, He Songluo tells countless stories, all of them thinly veiled jabs at various people.
Forced to leave the town, she meets a down-and-out scholar who makes a living writing letters for people.
The scholar is very handsome, though he looks frail and easy to knock over.
Especially in the depths of winter, when he coughs three times before he can speak, yet somehow he is just her type.
"We'll travel together. I'll protect you," He Songluo says, patting her chest.
The scholar smiles and bows. "I'll be in your care, miss."

The city is full of tricks, and He Songluo keeps wanting to go back to the countryside.
Until she runs into trouble, and the frail scholar instantly transforms into a cunning powerhouse. He stops panting when he speaks, and even stands up straight.
"Is this really my handsome young gentleman?" He Songluo wonders.
