How Can I Save You All When My Start Was a Huge Success and Your Survival Chances Are Terrible?

*The story begins on a rooftop, with Hikaru at the center, and everyone in the Police Academy group being saved. It seems to be getting more serious as I write, but the original intention was a silly comedy skit, so the rescue methods may not be serious, and there may be some wild developments. *Canon characters take the lead, with a few original characters added to fill out the story and move the plot along. The Matsuda arc focuses on Hikaru and Matsuda; the Hagiwara arc is a Whisky group get-together; the Date arc is a Police Academy group get-together; and the interludes focus on the Organization. The Conan timeline is so far in the future that I haven't planned it yet. *Uses tabletop role-playing rules, but isn't strictly Lovecraftian. There's only a tiny bit of Cthulhu material, used for fun and to move the plot along. The main thing is the dice (or the dice playing us). Uses a house rule of 1-3 for critical success and 98-100 for critical failure, with no luck points but with pushing your luck. The rules have been simplified and heavily modified. Other than four predetermined critical successes of 1 used to set up the rescue arcs, all rolls are generated by a random number generator. There's a tiny chance the dice will go wild and take the story in unexpected directions; all I can say is I'll do my best to make it work. *The main story is genfic, except for canon couples (such as Date and Natsuki). *OOC is inevitable. Anything not mentioned in the original is my own headcanon. If something contradicts canon, I probably forgot and will fix it when I notice. If I can't fix it, please consider it headcanon. Warning for all kinds of terrible puns. The System is just there to make the author's sarcastic comments. *The timeline has been altered. After asking the dice for their opinion, I moved the three Whisky members' entry into the Organization to around the time Hagiwara died. Theme: For a better tomorrow
