As the king of the insect race, Lotes knew his destiny even before he hatched: to lead his people toward a brighter future.
One day, he suddenly awoke from his slumber and secretly used the king's authority to connect with every member of the insect race.
A revolution was underway. They didn't need a king!
Their queen was greedy, cruel, and extravagant, leading the insect race ever closer to the abyss. As she grew weaker, the entire race became increasingly unhinged.
The rebels, brazen enough to overthrow the queen's autocracy and unwilling to be forcibly controlled any longer, stormed the palace where she lived.
The already frail queen launched a final counterattack, protected by her loyal guard insects. She tried to forcibly control the rebels and make them kill themselves.
Lotes, still connected to them, sent her attack rebounding. These were his people! He casually killed the depraved queen who had ruled them.
"Tsk, pathetic." Lotes felt a brief stir of emotion before breaking the connection. It seemed the insect race had found a new path without needing a king.
Lotes decisively gave up on hatching, concealed and protected his egg, and went back to sleep, hoping that when he awoke next, the time would be right.
Though he doubted there would ever be an opportunity. After experiencing freedom, how could the insects want to put on shackles, no matter the cost?
A rabid dog is only a rabid dog because it lacks a true master. They had been waiting all along, waiting for his arrival.
A short skit
In the old king's era:
Insects: "Kill! Kill the queen! We want freedom!"
Lotes: "Whoa, my species is revolting! They're so interesting and brave. Too bad I'm the king. I don't want to oppose them, so I'll take another nap."
When the insects sensed Lotes:
Insects: "What is this? My genes are screaming at me to love him, submit to him, and find him! We have to find him!"
Lotes: "So sleepy... zzzzz"
Insects: "Wake up! No more sleeping! The sun's already up!"
Theme: Under the sun's light, no shadow can hide
