A Fisherman, Yet Courted by a Mermaid Prince

Zhen Daomei, a star bodyguard who hates fish, dies and transmigrates into the body of a fisherman in a fishing village.

He would rather starve to death eating tree bark than touch fish, so the whole village humiliates him as a freak.

He doesn't know that behind the reefs, a mermaid has been watching him for a long time.

This human's soul feels so warm, yet he seems to be in so much pain.

When the mermaid sees him refuse to fish or eat fish even if it means dying,

he immediately fills in the blanks: So his pain comes from the compassion he feels for all living things. He's so good. I love him.

As for the people who bully him? Hmph. They're all trash.

Just before Zhen Daomei faints from hunger, a breathtakingly handsome man appears with a roast chicken, his ears bright red.

“Here's your dowry. C-can you marry me? I'll protect you.”

Zhen Daomei: “???”

Later, disaster strikes the sea. Giant waves swallow the island, and the people push the “freak” forward as a sacrifice to the sea, hoping to appease it.

Zhen Daomei gives a bitter smile and grips his knife, ready to act

when the towering waves suddenly part. His “innocent, shy” little beauty hangs above the crest, long hair whipping in the wind, jade-green eyes cold as ice.

“Who are you trying to give my husband to...?”

Bonus scene

“The one who cursed you the most back then? I made sure he couldn't catch a single fish for three years!”

“The one who tried to push you into the sea? I made it so crabs pinch him every time he takes a bath!”

Zhen Daomei rubs his forehead. “...Thanks, but that really wasn't necessary.”

The mermaid immediately looks aggrieved and wraps his tail around Zhen's ankle. “But they treated you badly. They're bad people. Bad people should get what's coming to them, shouldn't they?”

Zhen Daomei is at a loss for words. In the end, he can only reach out and gently stroke the mermaid's damp hair.
