Farmers, butchers, knights, wealthy merchants, princes, mages... Everyone was eager to set out, weapons in hand, to face the dragon.

Mu Er's father called him over and said earnestly, "It's time to expand our territory. I hear the neighboring kingdom's princess is a peerless beauty. Go, son!"

Mu Er only wanted to lie flat and enjoy his days, but reluctantly set off on his mission. Perhaps this was a prince's duty!

Who could have guessed that the evil dragon had poor eyesight and would abduct a prince who'd gone to rescue the princess?

The dragon elders told every underage dragon: only a dragon who abducted a human princess and survived the humans' pursuit could complete the ritual and become a true adult dragon.

Leiande was the only black dragon in the fairy-tale world. He was about to undergo his coming-of-age ritual, and carefully questioned an elder about the details: "How do I tell who's a princess? What traits should I look for? Why do I have to capture one? Is the princess a coming-of-age gift? What am I supposed to do with her after I capture her?"

The elder couldn't understand why any dragon would ask such questions and replied carelessly, "The prettiest one is the princess. Lots of people protect her... Fair-skinned, tender, and delicious... You could say she's a gift... Do whatever you like with her once you bring her back..."

Leiande set off for the nearby city, earnestly searching for a suitable "princess." At last, in the forest, he spotted a group of people: a fully equipped party, and a beautiful person stepping out of an ornate carriage under heavy guard. They had blond hair, blue eyes, and fair skin, and were so delicate and lovely they looked like a little doll.

Leiande's heart pounded. This must be the princess the elder had described.

So he spread his wings and flew over, carrying off the "princess" who would be his coming-of-age gift.

"Bonus Scene"

After realizing it was all a misunderstanding, Mu Er tried reasoning with the black dragon: "You got the wrong person. I'm a man, not a princess."

Leiande didn't believe him. Mu Er puffed out his chest. "Look, it's flat!"

Then he was stripped naked and examined from head to toe.

Mu Er flushed red with anger. "Stop! You perverted dragon!!!!"

P.S. I'm writing this to suit my own tastes, so it's not particularly Western-fantasy-style.

A shadow stood by the bed. The young man, gone for many days, bent down and kissed his trembling lashes, licking away his tears.

His voice sounded as if it came from hell. "An'an, haven't I fed you enough?"

"Why? Why did you look for someone else again?"
