The Six Gates' Junior Forensic Doctor

After working overtime for 72 hours, forensic doctor Zhou Tan blacked out and traveled back to the Ming Dynasty. She became Tan Niang, a refugee girl in a shantytown outside the capital whose parents had just died. She had a little brother, skin and bones, and a baby sister who was still crying for food.

The good news was that her beloved forensic kit, which she never let out of her sight, had come with her.

To put food on the table, Zhou Tan took her siblings by the hand, returned to her old profession, and began helping the local authorities solve cases.

Before long, spies from the Six Fan Gate heard that a remarkable young girl had appeared among the refugees west of the capital. She could estimate time of death from rigor mortis, identify where a body had been dumped by studying insect activity, and use a silver hairpin and white vinegar to detect traces of arsenic.

So Tan Niang was specially appointed to work at the Six Fan Gate, earning three strings of coins a month, plus a bonus for solving major cases. It was enough to rent a small courtyard outside the city, so she no longer had to sleep outdoors with her siblings, constantly on guard against the old ruffians outside.

Ever since Tan Niang joined the Six Fan Gate, everyone had been amazed.

The sweet, fragile-looking girl worked with remarkable speed and maturity.

She taught them how to use magnetic powder to reveal fingerprints;

She had a whole set of dissection knives for examining corpses;

And when an assassin in the organization was badly wounded, she calmly used a hemostat to clamp his intestines.

She was truly born for this line of work!

Wei Wushe was the sharpest blade in the Six Fan Gate.

He was part of the secret division, an assassin, a protector who lived in the shadows.

But the day Tan Niang saved his life with a hemostat and shouted, "Is evidence more important than a human life?" a little light began to shine on Wei Wushe.

Tan Niang would use a dissection knife to uncover the truth;

He would use his embroidered spring sword to protect her.
