After pretending not to notice and then having an expert perform an exorcism both failed, she decided to treat the ghost sincerely and negotiate with him in good faith. "What unfinished business do you have?" The handsome male ghost wrapped his fingers around her hand, his tone languid. "I want to kill you." "..." After several negotiations that she considered perfectly successful, the male ghost became even more brazen, trailing after her with his alluring eyes. "Your heart's beating so fast... Am I frightening you?" Trapped by the cold in a cramped bathroom with nowhere to run, Lin Jiu gritted her teeth and decided to fight fire with fire. "My heart beats fast because I like you." It worked beautifully. So beautifully that after Lin Jiu fulfilled his wish, the male ghost moved right into her home. "Humans and ghosts don't have a future together," she warned him carefully. The male ghost kissed her hair and said, "Okay," but clearly hadn't taken a word of it to heart. ** The next day, a new neighbor moved in next to Lin Jiu. The male ghost was clingy and ill-tempered, while the neighbor was gentle and kind. She hadn't been particularly interested in him, until one day... Wearing nothing but a bath towel, the neighbor knocked on her door with big, watery eyes and asked for help. "Doctor Lin, I think... I've seen a ghost." Water dripped from his cheek and rolled beneath the bath towel. The hallway was cold, and he looked so pitiful that Lin Jiu had no choice but to let him in. Besides, they were both people who could see ghosts. They were in the same boat, so of course she had to help. Especially since... whenever the neighbor appeared, the male ghost disappeared. Lin Jiu knocked on her neighbor's door every few days, asking him to see a movie one day and go to the supermarket the next. The neighbor's eyes were gentle, and he never turned her down. The male ghost and the neighbor were worlds apart. But sometimes, when she heard one of them panting with desire, it sounded strangely familiar. In the throes of passion, she studied the neighbor's face closely, until his alluring eyes gradually became indistinguishable from the male ghost's. A dagger pressed against the male ghost's heart. Beneath its sharp edge, he gave her a dazzling smile. "Are you more nervous about killing me than you are when we kiss?" "Who's trying to kill you?" Lin Jiu snorted. She lowered her eyes and traced over him for a while, then looked up, her eyes bright and moist. "Now you'll only ever listen to me." Lin Jiu: "Hm?" Lin Jiu: "Wait, why do you look even happier than before? o.o" ** Wen You had once been warned: "Lin Jiu is good at pretending and even better at sweet-talking. You can use her to bring yourself back to life, but remember not to fall for her." He'd thought it was ridiculous. Who would fall for their enemy? Later, Lin Jiu smiled at him. He thought for a few seconds, then decided he didn't mind being the butt of the joke. #Said he wanted revenge, so why did he fall in love with her?# #Don't ask. Sticking to his enemy's side every second of every day forever obviously counts as revenge too.# [Before You Read] - Anything involving the supernatural is extremely far-fetched, so please ignore those details while reading... - A simple, sweet story.
